Cishan temple is a Chinese Buddhist temple founded by the Enlightenment of Sakyamuni Buddha. We believe that all living beings have the Buddha nature. By listening to, thinking and practicing, we can cultivate correct knowledge and insight, get rid of worries, and achieve happiness and wisdom, so as to achieve real happiness. In accordance with the spirit of Guanyin Bodhisattva's compassion and salvation, we will carry forward the Dharma of faithfulness. Cishan temple is committed to opening the door of compassion and wisdom. Through the activities of promoting Dharma practice and cultural education, it purifies the hearts of the public, and strives to serve the society and build a pure land of the world with the perfect Buddhist dharma.
Cishan temple was built by Mr. Li Ka Shing, who donated all construction funds and daily administrative funds. By 2016, Li Ka Shing Foundation had donated more than HK $2 billion. Uphold the right law and benefit the public.
Cishan Temple
Located at Ting Kok, Tai Po, New Territories, and Tung Tze near boat Bay, Tsz Shan Temple covers an area of 4.7 hectares, with a floor area of nearly 5000 square meters. It can accommodate up to 2000 Shinshin Shin members. It is developed by the Zhengjue Lotus Society of Hong Kong and has received an investment of $1.5 billion from Li Ka Shing.
The second tallest outdoor statue of Avalokitesvara in the world stands in Cishan temple. Different from most other temples, it is not allowed to burn incense when visiting Guanyin in Cishan temple. Instead, "water supply" is used.
Brief introduction to temples
Cishan temple is built of red sandalwood imported from Africa. The lotus shaped covers of the three Buddhas in the main hall are plated with 24K gold. The roof is made of Japanese silver tiles to ensure uniform color.
It is difficult to estimate the value of some of the temple's furnishings. For example, in 2012, the president of Sri Lanka presented a broken branch of the bodhi tree to the Buddha's Enlightenment place. From the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang, the murals of "Maitreya Sutra change", "Manjusri Sutra change" and "Puxian Sutra change" were reproduced with precision instruments.
Buddism godness Guanyin statue
Cishan temple, an outdoor bronze statue of Avalokitesvara with a height of 76 meters (equivalent to about 25 floors), is the world's second tallest building of the same type, second only to the Hainan sea Avalokitesvara. The bronze statue sits in the north and south, far away from the temple of heaven Buddha on Lantau Island.
The scale
An area of about 1027 square meters of the main hall, the highest 18 meters;
An area of about 333 square meters of Guanyin hall;
Two master's dormitories covering an area of about 1350 square meters;
A vegetarian dining hall that can accommodate nearly 120 people;
A Buddhist Resource Center;
110 private car parking spaces and 13 tourist bus parking spaces;
Taxi and minibus boarding and alighting locations;
In addition, Dongzi road and tingjiao road connecting the Buddhist temple will be widened.
Opening to the outside world
It is necessary to limit the number of people entering the temple and not receive tour groups. The purpose is to "keep the temple quiet, and face the nearby residents. If there are too many people, it will affect the nearby residents.
It is scheduled to be open to the public from April 15, 2015, with a daily limit of 400 people. Online and telephone appointment has been accepted. Visitors can take part in activities such as Scripture copying, water supply and Zen walking.
The Zhengjue Lotus Society in Hong Kong shows that the purpose of building the temple is not to develop tourism, but to promote Buddhism and Buddhist studies. Tai Po District Council supports the development by a large margin and believes that tourism in the area can be developed. Su Minfeng, a Canyu expert, claims that the construction of the temple in Dongzi will improve the local transportation and geomantic omen of Hong Kong.
Management measures
The Tai Po Environmental Protection Association believes that the development will damage the natural landscape of the area and may affect the nearby wetlands. Some astronomical organizations are worried that the night light of the Buddhist temple will cause light damage, which will affect the star watching in the area of chuanwan. They require the Buddhist temple to control the light. Residents of a number of low-density luxury houses nearby are worried that it will cause serious traffic congestion and air pollution to Tai Mei tuk.
At present, there is only one road to Tongzi: Ting Kok Road, which used to be a two lane two-way road, but it was only widened to four lane two-way road in 2004.
Changchun society, an environmental protection organization, believes that if the site is located on the "government, institution and community" land, the public has the right to pay attention to the use of the land. Moreover, no matter from the perspective of the size of the Buddha statue and the scale of the parking lot, it seems that the intention of questioning the plan is a small theme park, rather than purely religious use. The Hong Kong Institute of education, next to the site of Cishan temple, also opposed the plan, saying that it did not match the natural environment nearby. If the relevant building is completed, the only external landscape of the Academy will be completely blocked. Moreover, the tourists brought by the temple will destroy the quiet environment of the school.
In the past two years, the college has been buying furniture to encourage students to go out of the library and computer center and enjoy the beautiful environment of the campus so as to improve their study. The appearance of monasteries will make students lose an environment to concentrate on reading, and make the improvement of the school environment in vain.

Cishan temple is located in Dongzi, Tai Po, new territories. It covers an area of about 46000 square meters. During the construction period, because of a dispute between JUNHE Engineering Co., Ltd., which is in charge of the construction, and Changshi group, which is owned by Li Ka Shing, about the extra cost of the project modification, the two sides once argued against each other two years ago. The selection of the construction materials for the temple and a private meditation which is well-known to resist bombs and bullets were discussed The room was also exposed.
Changshi: there was a dispute over the quality and progress of materials. In December 2010, it won the main project contract of Cishan temple with 422 million yuan, and the construction began in March 2011. During the construction period, JUNHE was repeatedly informed that there were changes in the plan, which made the project wrong. JUNHE completed construction site 1a and 1B in August 2012 and obtained occupation permit, four months later than the original schedule. When JUNHE obtained the occupation permit, he continued to work on site 1a and 1b and site 2.
On September 10, 2012, JUNHE learned that the temporary platform project had to be completed on October 15. In early October, he was informed by the staff of Changshi that Li Jiacheng would preside over the "Tibet ceremony" on November 4, and would place the relic in the main hall
The monks will live in two of the dormitories after the ceremony. JUNHE said that the contract never stated that a ceremony would be held and people would enter the temple before the completion of the contract. The deadline was imminent, so he had to mobilize all the people to rush to work, including completing all the special requirements, such as installing bulletproof glass in dormitory No. 1 where there were no monks. The "Tibet ceremony" was held as scheduled. After the ceremony, Li Jiacheng and his eldest son Li zeju visited the temple project. Afterwards, the staff of Changshi were dissatisfied with the existence of many stones in the temple Defects, such as dissatisfaction with the color of the floor is inconsistent, joint gap is too obvious, etc. Changshi originally chose the sedimentary rock named flammet to make the stone slab with uneven surface.
Changshi dissatisfied with the defects and then paved the slabs: after JUNHE laid the slabs in the main hall, Changshi personnel asked to replace all the slabs in order to make the high-level happy. JUNHE shall request the supplier to make and polish the stone slabs to be smooth for resurfacing. In January this year, JUNHE was informed that four bodhi trees were to be transplanted in the main garden, which required the use of a crane. The design of the building under the main garden was not suitable for bearing the weight of the crane. As a result, the building was suspected of leaking due to heavy pressure. The contractor exceeds 300 million mantissa: JUNHE continued that due to the deterioration of the relationship between the stone problem and Changshi, Changshi and Shanhui conspired against JUNHE since May this year. JUNHE pointed out that without assessing whether the project needed to be postponed, the architect building of Xingye allowed Shanhui to collect a fine for JUNHE's failure to complete the project on time, and Shanhui failed to pay JUNHE two sums of 27.31 million yuan for the project.
JUNHE said that June 28 of this year was the extended completion period. At that time, less than 1% of the projects were still left. On July 2, he received a notice from Changshi to stop work in real time. On July 15, Chang Shi and Shan Hui asked JUNHE to hand over the site to Ji, otherwise they would apply for an injunction. JUNHE said that the project related expenditure exceeded $720 million, but so far only received $385 million, so he recovered the outstanding $334 million from Shanhui.
