Exhibition hall of the former site of Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China
The exhibition hall of the former Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China is located in Qingshuitang, 538 Bayi West Road. At that time, the exhibition hall was originally in the Northeast suburb of the old city, about 0.5 km away from the city. At that time, there was a three Bay bungalow of brick and wood structure. Because there were two ponds in front of the door, the water was bright and clear, so it was called Qingshuitang. The house was once the secret residence of the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China. Mao Zedong and Yang Kaihui lived here from the winter solstice of 1921 to April of 1923. Now the memorial hall is set up.

In the winter of that year, the Party branch rented a house in Qingshuitang as a secret office and used it for the accommodation of the Party branch secretary Mao Zedong's family.
In May 1922, the Hunan District Committee of the CPC was established. Mao Zedong served as secretary, he Shuheng, Li Lisan, Yi Lirong, Liu Shaoqi and Guo Liang served as members, while the district Party committee was located here. Mao Zedong lived in Qingshuitang house for a year and a half, while Yang Kaihui lived with her children until May 1924. The Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China led the first climax of the workers' movement in Hunan and developed Party organizations throughout the province. In 1924, it was renamed Hunan District Executive Committee of the Communist Party of China. It was this room that used to be the secret residence of the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1969, the "exhibition hall of the former site of the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China" was built. The surrounding environment and interior furnishings are restored to their original appearance. The memorial hall displays the main revolutionary deeds of the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the cultural relics of the workers' and peasants' revolutionary movement under its leadership. It covers an area of 42000 square meters. In June 2006, the State Council announced that the former site of the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
The room was once the secret residence of the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China. Now a memorial hall is built. The surrounding environment and interior furnishings are restored to their original appearance.
The current situation of Hunan Peasant Movement
On November 14, 1926, the Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China reported to the Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China the situation of the KMT's Hunan party departments at all levels and the political attitude of Hunan governments at all levels. The report said: Zhang Yipeng and others from the provincial government have doubted the peasant movement, and local tyrants and evil gentry from all over the country have flocked to attack the peasant associations.
On November 15, the CPC Hunan District Committee reported to the CPC Central Committee the new trend of the Hunan peasant movement and its policy towards the left. He also said that the peasant movement in Hunan was destroyed by reactionary forces. First, they attacked openly. Second, they infiltrated the peasant associations or set up fake peasant associations to make trouble and destroy the tax authorities. The local government is suspicious of the peasant movement, and "our comrades working in various places have done many childish things.". The report proposes to adopt corresponding policies: 1. To cooperate with the left wing of the Kuomintang in the agricultural movement so that they can actively attack the reactionary forces. 2. He made concessions to the reactionary right wing of the Kuomintang and compromised on some issues. 3. It is up to the Kuomintang and the Chinese Communist Party to urge the government to eliminate the reactionary forces. 4. The KMT and the provincial government jointly set up a dispute adjudication committee. 5. 6. We should treat the regiment defense Bureau separately, crack down on those who do evil, and be neutral and not evil. We should make use of the strength of the masses to celebrate the October Revolution Day and the victory of the Nanxun line. 8. "Try to correct comrade's childish faults.". 9. We should develop the party's organization among the peasants and obtain "the party's political guidance power".
