Lihu Lake

Lihu lake, also known as Wulihu Lake, is the inner lake of Taihu Lake stretching into Wuxi. It is located in the southwest suburb of Wuxi, a famous city in the south of the Yangtze River. It is about 10 kilometers away from the city center. It is shaped like a gourd. In the early days, it was 6 kilometers long from east to west, 0.3-1.8 kilometers wide from north to south, and covers an area of 8.0 square kilometers. In the southeast, Taihu Lake is connected by Changguangxi river.

It's a treasure land of Fengshui. Here, it is said that more than 2500 years ago, Fan Li, a senior official of the state of Yue, helped Gou Jian, king of Yue, defeat the state of Wu, and retired after success. He hid in Lihu lake with Xi Shi and wrote the first monograph on artificial fish farming in the fishing village beside Lihu lake. They went boating on the lake. In the morning, they saw "the smoke is far away, the trees and mountains are slowly rising", and in the evening, they saw "the moon is falling, the waves are cold, and the water is just flat". They had a good time. In memory of Fan Li, Wuli Lake is also called Li Lake. Lihu lake is also known as Qihu lake or Xiaowu lake. Later, because the shape of the lake is like a gourd ladle, it is also known as Lihu lake.

Main attractions

On the South Bank of Lihu lake, there is Baojie mountain, also known as Zhushan mountain. There are Tang City, Three Kingdoms city and Shuihu City, which are used as the film and television base of CCTV. On the north bank are Liyuan, Lihu Central Park and Asia city. Baojie bridge lies on the surface of the lake. It was donated by Rong Zongjing and Rong Desheng, two famous industrialists in China. It is more than 300 meters long and separates the east from the west of Lihu lake. On the East Bank of Lihu lake, there is a relic of Gaozi's water residence, where Gao Panlong, a member of Donglin Party, lived in seclusion and studied in the late Ming Dynasty. In the southeast of Lihu lake is Changguangxi Wetland Park, and in the southwest is Yuantouzhu Park, one of the main scenic spots of Taihu Lake, a national key scenic area.

Qingqi village, located on the North Bank of Lihu lake, is named for its proximity to Lihu lake. The name "Hu" comes from the story of Fan Li and Xi Shi boating on the lake more than 2400 years ago during the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. Liyuan, there are four tourist areas. In the East, there are Qianbu corridor (stele inscriptions), qinghongyanlvshuixie, Ningchun tower, old Liyuan pool, lotus leaf Pavilion, xinjiande Liuying Pavilion, Lvyi Pavilion, Shuixie, Chunqiu Pavilion, yingyue bridge; in the west, there are baihuashanfang, Zhuojin tower, yueboping Pavilion, Nandi Chunxiao Pavilion, Siji Pavilion, Yuzhuang Pavilion; in the middle, there are rockery group, lotus pool, Lianfang, xierquan, Guilin Tianxiang, etc . The 289 meter long Qianbu corridor, with a curved bank and a water pillow, can help you understand the artistic conception of the corridor surrounded by water. There are 64 carved stones and 80 blue and white windows with different patterns. Li Lake is divided into East Li Lake and West Li Lake by Baojie bridge (donated by Rong Zongjing and Rong Desheng), which is more than 300 meters long and lies in the middle of the lake.
