Lei Feng Memorial
Leifeng memorial hall is located in Leifeng street, high tech Zone, Changsha City, Hunan Province (originally, Leifeng Town, Wangcheng district was entrusted by Changsha high tech Zone in June 2008, and Leifeng town and liaojiaping street were merged into Leifeng street in 2015). It was founded in 1964 and opened in October 1968. It has been reconstructed and expanded three times, covering an area of 99900 square meters. It is a provincial cultural relics protection unit, It is a patriotic education base at the central, provincial and municipal levels and an influential position for the construction of spiritual civilization in China.
According to the function, it can be divided into six areas: pingdiao area, exhibition area, Beiyuan area, sculpture area, youth education activity area and comprehensive service area.

The Leifeng Memorial Hall in Hunan Province is a classroom for Communist education and revolutionary tradition education for the masses, especially for teenagers. Lei Feng, a leader, a lover and a driller, has made extraordinary achievements in his ordinary post. He is infinitely loyal to the cause of communism, loves the motherland and the people, "and puts his limited life into infinite service for the people.". In him, people see the perfect combination of Chinese traditional virtues and communist morality. Lei Feng Memorial Hall in Hunan Province has played an important role in promoting Lei Feng spirit and promoting the construction of two civilizations.
Lei Feng memorial hall, with detailed contents and rich materials, reproduces the short and ordinary life of Lei Feng, a great communist soldier. The park mainly includes Lei Feng Memorial, Lei Feng statue, Lei Feng tomb, Lei Feng deeds exhibition hall and other buildings as well as youth education facilities. On the first floor, Lei Feng's ordinary and great life is reproduced in detail in the form of special topics and chronicles. On the second floor, Lei Feng's activities and typical deeds of military and civil studies in China for more than 40 years are displayed. With more than 20000 photos and more than 3000 cultural relics, it is a modern exhibition hall with high quality.
Venue features
With a total area of 94000 square meters, the memorial hall is composed of exhibition room of Lei Feng's life story, cultural activity center and reception service center. The exhibition hall is arched, with a height of 12 meters and a circumference of 52 meters. On the circular wall, there are large murals depicting Lei Feng's growth from a helpless orphan to a communist soldier. More than 400 cultural relics and 140 photos are displayed.
The exhibition hall of Lei Feng's life story and cultural activity center, a new exhibition hall with modern flavor, have a building area of 1230 square meters and 2300 square meters respectively.
After more than one year's preparation, the exhibition highlights the characteristics of "Hunan Leifeng Museum". The exhibition hall of Lei Feng's life story takes Lei Feng's diaries written in different periods as clues to show the growth process of Comrade Lei Feng and the formation process of Lei Feng's spirit. Previously, it was based on Comrade Lei Feng's "four spirits" as clues. More than 20 valuable objects provided by Lei Feng's relatives, comrades in arms, colleagues and leaders are collected in the exhibition hall, including more than 400 exhibits donated, copied and imitated by Lei Feng's diary, as well as a number of works of art with Lei Feng as the theme, including sculpture, oil painting and calligraphy, created by Hunan literary and art celebrities for the memorial hall. The modern exhibition hall of Lei Feng's life story has a building area of 1230 square meters.
The cultural activity center includes a multi-functional film and television lecture hall, a military model exhibition hall and a book reading room, which can accommodate more than 400 people.
The total investment for the reconstruction and expansion of Lei Feng memorial hall is more than 28 million yuan. After the renovation and expansion, the Statue Square of Lei Feng is very spacious. The statue of Lei Feng is radiant and shines on every visitor from all over the world. Lei Feng statue was made in the early 1990s by the famous sculptor Zhu Weijing. The sculpture is all made of gneiss. It depicts Comrade Lei Feng in a military uniform and a military cap with a gun on his back. The sculpture is 5 meters high and the base is 3 meters high. The purpose is to commemorate the publication of the inscription "learn from Comrade Lei Feng" by Mao Zedong and other proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation on March 5, 1963. Since its completion, the sculpture has been placed in the square in front of Lei Feng Memorial Hall. Over the years, it has become a landmark sculpture of Lei Feng Memorial Hall. Every visitor from afar competes to take a picture with it. "Lei Feng with a gun on his back" has become a classic image in people's memory. In May 2002, the Hunan Provincial People's government announced the statue of Lei Feng as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit through the "notice on publishing provincial cultural relics protection units" issued by xiangzhengfa No. 11.
Venue contribution
Founded in November 1968, Lei Feng memorial hall is the national youth moral education base and patriotism education base. Over the past 34 years, the museum has taken the responsibility of "broadcasting Lei Feng spirit and being a descendant of Lei Feng". It has received tens of millions of domestic tourists, distributed millions of publicity materials about Lei Feng, and developed hundreds of units jointly built with Lei Feng.

1. On March 5, 1963, people's Daily published Mao Zedong's inscription "learn from Comrade Lei Feng". In April, an exhibition of Lei Feng's life story was held in heyeba primary school, Lei Feng's hometown.
2. On November 20, 1968, Lei Feng memorial hall was built and opened.
3. In May 1971, Hua Guofeng, the first Secretary of the provincial Party committee, visited the museum.
4. In 1973, the contents and forms of the exhibition were revised for the first time.

12. On February 2, 1987, Liu Bocheng's wife Wang Ronghua and Xu Teli's wife Xu Qian visited the museum.
13. On January 28, 1988, a seven member delegation of Fushun learning from Lei Feng was led by Zhao Jianmin, the first vice minister of Propaganda Department of Fushun Municipal Party committee, to visit the museum. He weiqi, Secretary of the county Party committee, and Tang Zhengxiang, head of the county Party committee, received the delegation.
14. On October 17, 1988, a delegation from Fushun Municipal government visited the museum. Mayor Ding Zhaomin and vice mayor Qi Mingtian wrote inscriptions.
15. In May 1989, Wu Yuting, an American female teacher at Hunan Medical University, visited the museum and wrote a message that "Lei Feng belongs to the world".
16. In 1989, Lei Feng memorial hall was awarded the provincial civilized health unit.
17. In March 1990, curator Lei Mengxuan attended the National Symposium on learning from Lei Feng held in Zhongnanhai and was cordially received by Jiang Zemin, Yang Shangkun, Li Peng and other state leaders.
