There are 11020 species of medicinal plants (including 1208 lower grade plants) in China. Geographical location and climate
Beijing medicinal botanical garden belongs to Institute of medicinal plants, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It is located at the foot of Baiwang mountain, a scenic spot in the northwest suburb of Beijing, 10 kilometers away from the urban area. It is 116 ° 25'e and 39 ° 47'n. The altitude is 50 meters. Beijing medicinal botanical garden was established in 1984 with the establishment of the Institute of medicinal plants and expanded from the original herbarium Garden (founded in 1955). The existing land area of the whole garden is 20 hectares: 12.5 hectares of exhibition area and teaching practice area, 3 hectares of breeding area, 2.5 hectares of seed preservation area, 2 hectares of introduction and domestication experimental area, 1800 square meters of exhibition greenhouse and 200 square meters of research and experimental greenhouse. A total of 1300 species of medicinal plants (excluding varieties) are collected, and there are large-scale germplasm low-temperature storage (900 species, 1500 seeds) and various professional laboratories . There are 12 scientific and technical personnel engaged in plant classification, horticultural cultivation, plant physiology and biochemistry, genetic breeding, plant protection, germplasm exchange at home and abroad, etc. 22 managers and workers are engaged in the daily production and management of each area in the botanical garden.

Due to the special status of Chinese herbal medicine in the traditional Chinese medicine, Beijing medicinal botanical garden is becoming more and more familiar and popular. According to incomplete statistics, since 1984, the garden has received nearly 2000 foreign guests, scholars, friends and tourist groups, many of whom are celebrities who have a strong interest in Chinese herbal medicine. It receives more than 3000 professional study visits and technical exchanges from colleges, universities and scientific research institutions every year. As the World Health Organization (who) traditional medicine cooperation center, we are also charged with the task of training personnel for the third world countries. Students from Nepal, North Korea, Thailand and other countries have studied in China, and all of them have achieved satisfactory results.

Beijing medicinal botanical garden is the only professional medicinal botanical garden of Ministry of health and Academy of Medical Sciences. The policy of garden construction is: scientific connotation, garden appearance, focusing on the collection of traditional Chinese medicine commonly used in Pharmacopoeia, anti-aging traditional Chinese medicine, scientific research, germplasm preservation, production, popular science, tourism five in one, all-round development. As a window to the world, Beijing medicinal botanical garden displays a long history of traditional Chinese medicine and rich medicinal plants through a large number of living plant specimens, which plays a role in communicating the research of medicinal plants at home and abroad. We have carried out a comprehensive study of Fritillaria, Hippophae rhamnoides, Polygonum multiflorum, aloe, asparagus, saffron, Thalictrum, Atractylodes lancea, Catharanthus roseus and other groups, and achieved results. Among them, Professor Li Liang won the second prize of science progress award of Ministry of health for "Research on breaking dormancy of Fritillaria and changing one season into two seasons", and was approved to apply for the National Science Progress Award. Beijing medicinal botanical garden has been listed as the largest professional medicinal botanical garden in China in the book "the best of Chinese plants" published by China Friendship Publishing House.

Geographical location and climate
Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden belongs to the Department of health of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in the eastern suburb of Nanning, 8 kilometers away from the urban area. Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden was founded in 1959. It was called Guangxi pharmaceutical laboratory at that time. In 1963, it was renamed Guangxi Pharmaceutical Research Institute. In 1981, it was officially renamed Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden. Over the past 30 years, more than 2130 kinds of medicinal plants and 11 kinds of medicinal animals have been introduced and cultivated. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the pace of development has been accelerated. It has developed from a herbarium garden into a base for scientific research, production, teaching and popular science of Chinese herbal medicine and ethnic medicine. It is also the largest medicinal botanical garden with the most cultivated varieties in the Asia Pacific region.
There are 240 hectares of land in the garden, including 27 hectares of medicinal plant cultivation area, 54 hectares of forest, 27 hectares of river, road and construction land. There are 11 exhibition areas of medicinal materials that have been built and will be built soon.
