history
Tianxiang temple was built in Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD) to worship the third Buddha.
There is a Taoist temple Tianxin cave 100 meters to the left of the temple. According to legend, it was originally named Tianxiang temple, which was the predecessor of Tianxiang temple and later the Taoist temple. Tianxiang temple was moved to the present day and built according to the mountain situation.
The temple has three rooms, three deep rooms and two storied pavilions. The temple faces south with its back on Hutou mountain, forming a "Tiger Leaping stream". When you climb the pavilion and look around the mountains, the valley is deep and quiet. There is no smoke in the valley. It gives you a sense of "isolation from the world and detachment from the world".
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, there were several meals. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1622-1722), the abbot, master Jingsu, was rebuilt with his family. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795), additional repairs were made. Daoguang 29 years (1949) moved to build this site. In 1874 (the 13th year of Tongzhi reign) and 1879 (the 5th year of Guangxu reign), the temple was reorganized and the worship pavilion was built again, and the jingshe building on the right side was restored.
In 1928, master Kaizhao was recruited to build the upper and lower halls. After the death of master Kaizhao, his nephew took over from master Guan and got a magnificent restoration. He erected the tower on the left and rebuilt the bell and Drum Tower. Shile's "another cave" and "lock cloud" were embedded in it. This is a couplet written by great master Hongyi Zeng Feixi, who wrote "the Buddha puts light, and the heart is full of joy".
In 1988, a new Tianxiang temple was built in the back of the temple. Five bay, five deep, lifting beams and columns, double eaves, roof masonry wood structure. There is a pair of carved stone pillars on the front eaves of the temple gate, and a pair of stone lions are placed on both sides of the lower steps, which are vivid and vivid. Shicheng in front of the temple is clean and spacious. The walls and stacks of the temple are decorated with stone figures, flowers and plants. Beams and columns, lock barrel, hanging barrel and arch bucket are all carved with granite and painted with powder gold. There are bell and drum towers on the left and right sides, which is another kind of architectural art.
Since the Sui Dynasty, the caves in Qiongshan have offered sacrifices to the Buddha or the immortal. Today, Buddhism and Taoism are separated, temples and temples are adjacent to each other, and the ancient and new buildings are more magnificent.
