Wuben hall consists of five parts: sedan hall, tea hall, main hall, hall building and lower room. The main hall is five rooms wide, which is the first one in Tongli. Among them, the ship hall has a unique architectural style and fine carving, which imitates the construction of a painted boat. It has five cabins, separated by carved partition fans. The left and right porches are like the side of a ship. There is a "King Wu Kao", and the ship windows are made of clear tiles, which are supported by bamboo poles when they are opened.
Wuben hall has both the old structure of Ming Dynasty and the Zouma building of Qing Dynasty. Wuben hall has a long and deep lane, which divides dozens of rooms into East and West.
The ancestors of Wuben hall can see Fengshui. Its architectural pattern is like a crane lying on its back in the south. The long and narrow accompaniment hall is called crane neck. The hall that enters one after another is crane body. The rooms on both sides of accompaniment hall are of course crane wings. The original wall door is like a crane opening its mouth to draw water from the river.
In order not to damage the geomantic omen of the house, the ancestors stipulated that no well should be dug inside the wall and gate to open a spring, for fear that the crane would spread its wings and fly after taking water. Therefore, people living in Wuben hall would rather suffer from carrying water than damage geomantic omen.
