Shiting Temple
Shiting temple is located in the lotus peak of Taoyuan Village, Fengzhou Town, Nan'an City. Lianhua peak, 120 meters above sea level, is a towering and precipitous peak with a stone standing like an eight petaled lotus, hence its name. The temple, facing south in the north, has three rooms in width and three rooms in depth, with double eaves on the top of the mountain. It is named after the stone pavilion on the right side of the vestibule.
The stone pavilion is named Bulao Pavilion. It was built in 1506, the first year of Zhengde of Ming Dynasty. It was built by Wang Mianjian of Raoping in Nan'an county. The stone beams in the pavilion are inscribed with the same builders. There are also couplets inscribed by master Hongyi on the pillar of Guanyin niche. It was originally octagonal. In 1896, it was changed into square shape with double eaves and stone structure.
On the north side of the temple, a two-story attic was built, with caodong ancestral hall at the top and qichan Pavilion at the bottom.
At the back of the pavilion is the tomb of the ancestor of Tsao Dong. There are 23 cliff carvings from Song Dynasty to Qing Dynasty scattered in the mountain. Tea garden layers, since ancient times rich in green tea, known as "shiting green", known at home and abroad, Qing Daoguang 21 years (1841) as a tribute. Lianhuafeng tea pill is a traditional specialty of Nan'an, which is developed according to the ancient prescription of temple monk.
