Yongantang drugstore was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than 580 years, more than 200 years earlier than Tongrentang. In the past, old Beijing was known as "inner Yongan, outer Tongren" when it came to medicine. "Wai Tongren" refers to Tongren hall outside the front door, and "Nei Yong'an" refers to Yong'an hall at the East and West corners of Dongsi archway in the city at that time. In the early Qing Dynasty, Yong'an hall was once the title of Dong's gold shop, the East West archway. After several generations of hard work, it reached its peak in the 1930s, and gradually developed into a self-made pharmacy with 16 branches and more than 1100 kinds of Chinese patent medicines, among which Zixue powder, Lingqiao Jiedu pill, Shenshi Huapi ointment, etc. are well-known.

Yong'an hall was first built in the Yongle period of Ming Dynasty. It was later changed to the east of the shop. Until the Qing Dynasty, it was once the title of dongjiajindian, the fourth East archway. Before liberation, Yang Zhouchen, chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Association of Beiping, was the general manager of yongantang. After liberation, yongantang became a drugstore specializing in the management of pharmaceutical products when it was a public-private joint venture.

Ever since its establishment, Yong'an hall has followed the business tenet of "reality and name match, wealth is born by Tao". It pays attention to pharmacy. Rebuild

Since the reform and opening up, with the prosperity and development of the socialist market economy, the old stores and equipment of Yong'an hall have been unable to meet the needs of reality. In the autumn of 1993, with the care and support of the party and the government, Yongan hall was rebuilt. On May 18, 1994, the reconstruction was completed and opened for business. After the renovation, the architectural style of yongantang drugstore not only retains the traditional simplicity and elegance, but also highlights the modern flavor. Yong'an hall has three floors. That is to say, in the first half of the Ming Dynasty, when Chinese medicine shops were set up everywhere, Yong'an hall opened in the capital. At the beginning of the Republic of China, a northerner, Mr. Yang Zhouchen, handed down the ancestral inheritance of Yong'an hall. Shopkeeper Yang was born in 1875 in Sanhe County, Hebei Province. He came to Yong'an hall in 1892. In 1907, he was the general manager of Yong'an hall. In 1942, he was the executive director of Beiping traditional Chinese Medicine Institute and the chairman of Beiping Chinese Medicine Association.
