Historical development

The historical development of Dongshan Township can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty. Dongshan Township was originally called "Donggua mountain". In the first year of Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Taibei Prefecture of Fujian Province. In the 12th year of Guangxu reign, it was changed to Yilan Hall of Taibei Prefecture of Taiwan Province. After the Sino Japanese War of 1894, Taiwan was ceded to Japan. The governor's office of Taiwan attached Dongshan Township to Yilan Hall of Taibei County, which was under the jurisdiction of Luodong County of Taibei Prefecture. Meihua Lake
