Changyang Road, formerly known as Huade Road, is a road located in the northeast of Shanghai, crossing Yangpu District of Hongkou, Haimen road in the west, Changzhi Road in the East, Neijiang road in the East and Fuxing island in the plan. Rail transit line 12 will run under Changyang Road. developing process
The main traffic road in the east of Shanghai, which spans Hongkou and Yangpu districts, is 4500 meters long. It starts from hailen road of Tilan Bridge in the West and ends at Neijiang road in the East. In the middle, there is a bridge across Yangshupu port (Changyang Road Bridge, also known as gaolang bridge). Changyang Road, formerly known as Huade Road, was built by Shanghai public concession Bureau in 1901, from Tilan Bridge to gaolang bridge in 1924 )Gaolang bridge was renovated and named Huade road bridge, and Huade Road (Changyang Road) was extended to Yinxiang port. In 1937, when the Anti Japanese war broke out and the eastern part of the northern part of the public concession was occupied, Japan took over the National Light Industry on both sides of Changyang Road, opened a cotton mill, and built a new type of lane as a dormitory for Japanese employees. In 1942, the Japanese army opened up the ghetto, and the west section of Changyang Road was one of the main places for Jewish activities in the area. In 1945, when Shanghai was restored, the national army went down from Baoshan in the north to the south, and through Changyang route, they invaded the city center from east to west. By the end of 1949, Shikumen, Japanese style villas, workshops and factories on both sides of the road were lined up, and trams were used. During the Anti Japanese War, Huade road was renamed Changyang Road. In the 1960s and 1990s, it gradually extended eastward to Longchang road and Neijiang road. According to the latest planning, Changyang Road will open eastward to Jungong road and reach Fuxing island through canal bridge.
green
Changyang Road is a road with rich greening. Street trees began to be planted in 1920s, but they were cut down by the Japanese Army during the Anti Japanese war. By 1945, only 188 trees were left, most of them were Platanus acerifolia, and they were also planted with Pterocarya stenoptera and Sapium sebiferum. Since 1950s, Platanus acerifolia has been planted all over the country. From 1983 to 1986, an open green space was built on Changyang Road (yangshupugang Ningguo section), with three sculptures, including paths, floors, rockeries, pools, pavilions, corridors, flower racks, tables and benches, for citizens to have a rest. In 2004, taiheli at Jiangpu intersection was demolished and Jiangpu Park was built at the end of 2005.
