Middle East Railway Museum
The Middle East Railway Museum was built in 1909. It covers an area of 4000 square meters and the building area is 1020 square meters. In 2008, it was rebuilt as the Middle East Railway Museum. It is the former site of tsarist Russian Forest Police Brigade. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit. Now it has more than 1000 cultural relics, including historical pictures and objects. It is divided into five parts: the eastern Provincial Railway period, the middle long railway period, and the transfer of the Middle East Railway. It interprets the vicissitudes of the Middle East Railway in the past 100 years. The museum is the only special museum with the theme of Middle East Railway in China. It is a national AA scenic spot and a patriotic education base.
architectural composition
The Museum covers an area of 1000 square meters, with an exhibition area of 800 square meters, displaying more than 1000 cultural relics. The cultural relics are divided into four parts: the Eastern Railway period, the South Manchurian Railway and the Middle East Railway period, the Puppet Manchurian Railway period, and the medium long railway period. The exhibition hall is designed as a whole train carriage type, and the railway is paved with three tracks of different historical periods for people to visit. Objects, models and pictures are displayed on both sides, and different themes are displayed by modern lighting. It gives people the feeling of stepping on the railway track and experiencing history through time and space. The railway in the hall is completely integrated with the cultural relics in the collection. The exhibition has become a history museum with the best design form and its own characteristics, vividly representing the historical process of the Middle East Railway from its inception to its return.
The completion of this museum in Zhalantun city can meet the needs of people at home and abroad to seek their roots. It will soon become a social education and patriotic history education base for people to master historical knowledge. At the same time, it will also add a tourist card to Zhalantun city.
Development history
The Museum of "Middle East Railway" in Zhalantun city is located 1000 meters to the west of the railway station in the north of Zhalantun city. The building started in 1905 and belongs to Russian architectural style, also known as Czarist stone house. Originally, it was a military barracks of tsarist Russian Road guards on the Middle East Railway. After 1949, it was the dormitory of Zhalantun railway middle school. The museum will be built in 2007, constructed in 2008 and completed by the end of this year.
