It is the largest statue in the existing Grottoes in Shandong Province. Facing south, the cave is square in plane, with a flat roof, 5.4 meters wide, 5.1 meters deep and 9.25 meters high. The main Buddha is tall and 9.05 meters high, occupying the main position in the cave. On the wall of the cave around the main Buddha, there is an inscription in the reign of Tang Tianbao, with several statues. On the east side are bodhisattvas and Arhats. Bodhisattvas are 2.2 meters high and Arhats are 1.8 meters high. The arch was rebuilt in 1536, the 15th year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty and Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. In 1989, a new stone gate was built to protect it.
[statues of the Great Buddha Temple] the statues of the Buddha in the cave stand on the seat of Xumi. With a height of 8 meters, the body is majestic and the statue of Dharma is solemn. He is dressed in a long shawl, with the chest band hanging down from left to right. His hands are made with the seal of Buddha's meditation and placed flat on his knees. There is a high relief Bodhisattva disciple on the left side of the main Buddha (east wall). The Bodhisattva is a flower Buddha on top of his head. He is dressed in a single Yingluo robe, with a belt around his waist. He has a plump face. He carries a bottle in his left hand and a willow branch in his right. The disciple, who stands next to the Bodhisattva, is dressed in monk's clothes, simple and unadorned. He holds his hands devoutly in front of his chest and looks up to the Buddha with a smile. On the right side of the main Buddha, due to the poor quality of the stone, there was no corresponding chisel to build a symmetrical escort disciple. Instead, four shallow niches were built, in which the sitting Buddha was engraved. There are three statues on the East and west walls, which are well preserved. From the scale, techniques and inscriptions of the carvings, it can be seen that the grottoes were first built in the Sui Dynasty, and there have been supplementary carvings since the Tang Dynasty. The height of the Giant Buddha in the cave is the highest in the province. It was announced as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level in 1977. There is a platform outside the cave, about the ancient cypress, Qiu branch cross out, green and dense.
