Hekeng Tulou group is located in front of lion mountain, which is composed of 15 Tulou with different shapes. The Lion Rock viewing platform opposite the village is the best place to overlook the Tulou group. You can easily see the "Big Dipper" hidden in it, and you can also see the two streams in the village meet at the foot of the mountain on the left, forming the geomantic crystal "Ding" water of hekeng Village.

Hekeng Tulou group is located in hekeng natural village, qujiangwei, Shuyang Town, Nanjing County, Fujian Province, 58 kilometers away from Nanjing County. From the mid Yuan Dynasty (1308-1338) to the 1960s, it was built more than 700 years ago and became the settlement of the Zhang family. It covers an area of 174000 square meters.
Hekeng Tulou group consists of 14 square buildings, including Chaoshui building, Yangzhao building, Yongsheng building, Shengqing building, Yongrong building, Yonggui building, Yuchang building, Chungui building, Dongsheng building, Xiaochun building, Yongqing building, Yuxing building and Nanxun building.

Historical evolution
The hekeng Tulou group was built from the earliest Yuchang building (middle Yuan Dynasty: 1308-1338) to the latest Yongqing building (1967-1972). The construction time spans 700 years, reflecting the historical evolution of the formation and development of Tulou in different ages.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912), Zhang built seven square earth buildings, including Chaoshui building, Yongsheng building, Shengqing building, Yonggui building, Yangzhao building, Nanxun building and Yongrong building.
In modern times, Zhang built seven round earth buildings.

Hekeng Tulou group is one of the denser Tulou groups in Fujian Province, known as xianshanlouge and Beidou seven star.
Taking "Fa Tian Xiang Di" as the planning layout concept, the square earth buildings are planned and constructed in batches at one time, and 14 large earth buildings are arranged within less than 1 square kilometer. Seven square earth buildings built in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chaoshui building, Yangzhao building, Yongsheng building, Shengqing building, Yongrong building, Yonggui building, Nanxun building, and seven modern round earth buildings, Yuchang building, Chungui building, Dongsheng building, Xiaochun building, Yongqing building, Yuxing building, Yangchun building, constitute two groups of "Beidou Seven Star" star wonders on the ground.
Chaoshuilou is the starting point of the square Beidou Seven Star array and the oldest square earth building in the hekeng earth building group. The reborn Chaoshui building has only three floors, 11.3 meters in height and 1.66 meters in thickness. There is no stone foundation, but only 1 meter high pebbles are embedded outside the wall.
In front of Chaoshui building, there are seven Tulou, namely Dongsheng building, Xiaochun building, Yongqing building, Chungui building, Shengqing building, Nandong building and Yongrong building. In the left front of chaoshuilou, two small rivers meet at the foot of the mountain, forming the "Ding" shaped water of Fengshui crystal in hekeng village. Along the banks of the "Ding" shaped small river, there are six square earth buildings and three round earth buildings. In the left rear of Chaoshui building, in Qujiang natural village, there are 11 earth buildings, such as Qingnan building and Qingyu building.

Among the 14 Tulou groups in hekeng, 13 are listed in the world cultural heritage list, which is the largest group of Tulou in Fujian. Looking down from shizididong, Chungui building, Yuxing building, Yuchang building, Yangchun building, Yongqing building, Xiaochun building and Dongsheng building form a spoon shape, like the Big Dipper, while Chaoshui building, Yonggui building, Yangzhao building, Yongrong building, Yongsheng building, Nanxun building and Shengqing building also form a new big dipper array. The two arrays do not confront each other, but complement each other With Yin and Yang, this is a unique landscape in Chinese Tulou.
The single earth building of hekeng earth building group is a enclosed residential building with more than two floors, which is built by the method of rammed earth wall and bucket structure.
Each earth building in hekeng earth building group is built with pebbles and deep soil. The walls are three or four stories high and towering.
These earth buildings are all closed. There is only one gate on the ground floor. The gatehouses are all semi-circular Vaulted with slate. All the gate bolts are 6-inch square hardwood which is about 10 meters long. No two people can't retract and open the door.
Fourteen Tulou of different ages and types are scattered in the valley, surrounded by green hills in the East, West and south. A small stream flows from east to west through the Tulou group and into Qujiang River in the northwest, reflecting the unique characteristics of the integration of the village formed by Tulou and the natural environment.
Since the completion of hekeng Tulou group, except for normal maintenance, the walls, structure and internal and external space of these Tulou groups have remained unchanged.

Hekeng Tulou group includes six square Tulou, such as Chaoshui building, Yangzhao building, Yongsheng building, Shengqing building, Yongrong building and Yonggui building, six round Tulou, such as Yuchang building, Chungui building, Dongsheng building, Xiaochun building, Yongqing building and Yuxing building, and a total of 13 pentagonal Nanxun building. Among them, the earliest Chaoshui building was built in 1549, the 28th year of Jiajing reign of Ming Dynasty. Hekeng Tulou group is known as Xianshan Pavilion and Beidou seven stars.
Yuchang building, built in the middle of Yuan Dynasty (1308-1338), is one of the oldest high-rise apartment buildings in the world. In fact, Yuchang building has four major attractions: the East slanting and the West slanting is one of them, the house in the building is the second, the five elements modeling is the third, the well in the house is the fourth, and the house in the building refers to the construction of a single storey ancestral hall in the center of the courtyard.
Yuchang building is a product of the early joint-stock system. It was jointly funded by the people of Liu, Luo, Zhang, Tang and fan. It has five floors, 18.2 meters and 270 rooms. There are five stairs in the whole building, which are divided into five trigrams. There are 22 wells in the kitchen on the ground floor, which is the most wells in Fujian Tulou. The biggest feature of Yuchang building is that its columns are tilted to the East and West, with a maximum inclination of 15 degrees. It seems to be tottering. It has withstood the test of 700 years of wind and rain erosion and numerous earthquakes, and remains the same as before. It has become a living specimen of ancient residential buildings.
Cultural relic value
Hekeng Tulou group is a masterpiece of Han traditional residential architecture, known as Xianshan Pavilion and Beidou seven stars.
Among them, Chaoshui building, the earliest one, is an ancient building embodying the architectural style of the Han nationality in the Ming Dynasty and the traditional architectural style and planning ideas of the Han nationality. Hekeng Tulou group embodies the traditional architectural style and planning ideas of the Chinese nation.
Cultural Activity
On March 14, 2014, the large-scale documentary film "beautiful country" team went into the hekeng Tulou group in Nanjing County and started a seven day shooting work.
