Zhuolung gorge in Nanka is a branch of Shangri La Grand Canyon. "Nanka" means heaven, "zhuolung" means deep gorge cut by flowing water, "Nanka zhuolung" means Tongtian gorge. The reason why nankazhuolung passes through the sky is that this deep gorge leads directly to the highest peak of Shangri La, the pyramid like balagezong snow peak.
The length of the deep valley is about 4000 meters from the bottom of the valley to the top of the gorge. The gorge is U-shaped, and the distance between the two opposite mountains is close; the cliffs on both sides are in the shape of vertical curtains. Because the canyon is too deep and narrow, the bottom of the valley looks gloomy, like walking in the evil path of underground purgatory; looking up from the bottom of the valley, the cliffs on both sides hold a line of blue sky.
