Bell Tower Plaza
The bell tower square is located in the center of Jingjiang City, adjacent to siyanjing, covering an area of 6600 square meters, which gathers the most cultural relics of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Jingjiang. It was first built in 1569 of the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1637 of the Ming Dynasty. In 1993, Jiangsu Provincial People's government announced the bell tower as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
Jingjiang's bell tower, siyanjing and Kuixing pavilion are collectively referred to as "bell tower square". They are located outside the South Gate of the people's Park, very close to the park. Jingjiang people's government attaches great importance to the protection and renovation of the above three cultural relics, which has been named "bell tower square".
The bell tower square covers an area of 6600 square meters. The original buildings and facilities near "siyanjing", "bell tower" and "Kuixing Pavilion" will be demolished. The current clock tower square adopts a relatively symmetrical design scheme, with the road of the horse (i.e. the middle rock paving) as the main axis, connecting the newly-built archway, the art and culture pool, the sunken square and the gate tower of the park with the Kuixing Pavilion scenic spot on the south side, echoing from north to south. The road of "Ji" originated from the army's horse ranch in the period of the Three Kingdoms and the eastern Wu Dynasty. The history of Jingjiang's urban construction and "Ji" have a constant complex of abandonment. There are stone lamp posts on both sides of the road, and all kinds of horses are carved on it. It reminds people of the galloping horse landscape here in ancient times, and also indicates the constant development of Jingjiang. The archway is built on the basis of the original "longevity square" in Jingjiang, and is located in the north of the square as the opposite view of the entrance. A round dance floor (16 meters in diameter) is set in the middle of the square, which is called Yiwen pool. It can be used for assembly, celebration and song and dance performance. The sunken square takes the shape of a bell as the plane composition, facing the art and culture pool. The northwest side is green belt. The main scene is the sunken square in the middle. On the East and west sides of the north end of the square, several grass slopes are set up to increase the proportion of green space in the square, with undulating terrain and better spatial landscape effect. In the square, there are the earliest place name of Jingjiang "matousha" carved stone column and Baisha tracing source, indicating the origin of Jingjiang City. In the southwest of the square, a relatively quiet space is formed by the combination of arbor forest, flower bed and stool for people to have a rest. The paving in the garden is a flow wave, which fully reflects the visual effect and sense of rhythm.
The bell tower square was completed in 2003, becoming another beautiful scenic spot in Jingjiang.
