architectural composition
The newly completed Zhongxiang Museum has a total investment of 70 million yuan, covering an area of 80040 square meters, of which the main building area is 10957 square meters, and the exhibition area is more than 3300 square meters. Its design concept takes the Ming Dynasty imperial culture as the theme, garden style, multi-function.
The whole theme building is like a seal in the natural landscape painting. The main hall in the shape of "sun" and the attached hall in the shape of "Moon" absorb the skeleton of Chinese character seal and look down from the air to form the structure of "Ming", highlighting the imperial culture of the Ming Dynasty. The whole theme building is immersed in the square landscape pool, forming the outer garden of the museum, the outdoor corridor and open space between the main hall and the attached hall, forming the inner garden of the museum, presenting the spatial image of "garden in the garden". The simple and elegant white main building, with a square shallow pool, one long, one high, one small, three boulders, takes the image of "mountain" in "water", as the finishing touch, expresses the theme of "between mountains and rivers, imperial seal", and becomes one of Zhong Xiang's landmark buildings.
There are five functional areas in the museum, which are exhibition area, public service area, collection warehouse area, technical protection area and administrative office area.
Basic Display
In the 3000 square meter exhibition area, there are five series of basic exhibitions, including the theme exhibition hall of Ming Dynasty emperor culture, Chu culture exhibition hall, ceramic calligraphy and painting treasures hall, longevity culture exhibition hall, Mr. Li Ji memorial hall, as well as temporary exhibition hall and multimedia hall.
The most distinctive one in the exhibition hall is Mr. Li Ji Memorial Hall. Li Ji, born in Zhongxiang, Hubei Province, is the first Chinese anthropologist to study in the United States. He is the founder of modern Chinese Archaeology and is known as "the father of modern Chinese Archaeology". He successively presided over the excavation of Yin Ruins in Anyang, Henan Province for 14 times, collected a large number of oracle bone inscriptions, changed the history of Yin Dynasty from legend to faithful history, and advanced the history of written records to 3000 years ago.

There are more than 20000 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics in the collection, including 14 pieces (sets) of national first-class cultural relics, 70 pieces (sets) of second-class cultural relics and 372 pieces (sets) of third-class cultural relics.
Su Shi's Duan inkstone is rectangular, protruding in the middle, and the inkstone pool is oval. Fine workmanship, warm stone, purple. The inkstone is engraved with the word "Su Shi".
Buddha statues in Ming Dynasty. The left hand is placed horizontally on both knees, and the right hand bends upward.
The monument is 223 cm long and 70 cm wide. It was written by Mao Huijian of Changshu, Jiangsu Province, who lived in Zhongxiang in the Qing Dynasty, and carved by Ye Lian of the ancient city.
You Lan Tu is a rare subject in Zheng Banqiao's works. It is a precious work of art, with its intricate layout, light and salty ink, vivid description of the shape of orchid and its own calligraphy.
