Bayi Town, the political, economic and cultural center of Linzhi Prefecture, is located at the Bank of Niyang River, 2900 meters above sea level, more than 30 kilometers away from the intersection of Yarlung Zangbo and Niyang River, and more than 400 kilometers away from Lhasa city. At first, there were only a few temples and dozens of families here. When Tibet was peacefully liberated in 1951, the people's Liberation Army began to build here, so it got its name. Famous scenic spots include "summer waterfall and winter ice", cuomu and rihu lake, giant Berlin, etc. Banna village, more than 40 kilometers southeast of Bayi Town, has a 1600 year old "mulberry king" with a height of 7.04 meters and a diameter at breast height of more than 13 meters. It is said that it was planted by Songzanganbu and Princess Wencheng. In Bajie village, which is more than 10 kilometers away from Bayi Town, there is a precious unique cypress species, Tibet juniper, which covers an area of 10 hectares. Among them, there is a giant cypress called "king of giant cypress" and "living cultural relic", which is more than 50 meters high, 58 meters in diameter at breast height, and about 2500 years old.
From Bayi Town to the East, through Pula, where Linzhi county government is located, and then to the south, is the intersection of Niyang River and Yarlung Zangbo River. The river is wide, like a mirror, and can be viewed by boat. It flows down the river for nearly 50 kilometers, which is the starting point of Yalu Zangbo Grand Canyon, a township of Milin county.
