Baiji temple in Shangri La was built in the Yuan Dynasty with a history of hundreds of years. Located on the top of the mountain behind the ancient city of dukezong, there are seven thousand year old fragrant trees in front of the temple gate. They are several feet high and three or four feet in circumference. They are green all the year round, overlooking the new Shangri La City, and the ancient city of dukezong is still in sight.
Baiji temple is full of incense. On the first and fifteenth day of the lunar new year, countless believers pray for a good place. Whenever you wish, release the chicken. When the East became white, the roosters crowed together to wake up the sleeping ancient city, and the people of all ethnic groups began a busy day again. Over time, the ancestors called it Baiji temple, and built pavilions and signboards on the top of the mountain.
