Zhougong tower

Zhougong tower, also known as Sanyuan tower, is located in sanyuanling, Shangdu village, Zhongdu Town, Shanghang County. The pagoda was built by Zhu Dadian, a member of the Tingzhou road patrol, in 1627 ad (the seventh year of tomorrow's Enlightenment). The tower is of brick and wood structure, seven story octagonal shape, more than 20 meters high. It is connected by wooden ladders and windows. It is called "hollow tube structure". You can overlook Tingting and Hangzhou style when you climb the tower. The big tower is built at the head of centipede and the small one at the tail of centipede. Because the tower is in the middle of the top of the centipede, the valley behind the tower is full of blood (rust water). Therefore, the court should not be open, so it was named "Duke of Zhou tower" to avoid taboo. The small tower at Centipede's tail collapsed later, while the big tower at Centipede's head remains intact until now. The top of the pagoda was blown up by a Japanese plane in 1942, which became a witness of Japan's invasion of China. In May 1984, the tower was listed as a county-level cultural relic protection unit in Shanghang.

Development history

There is a legend about this pagoda.

During the reign of Tianqi in the Ming Dynasty, a family of great surnames at the foot of sancengling built a great ancestral tomb on the top of sancengling. Shenglongkou is buried in this cemetery. It is said that every time the grave sweeper leaves, the grave sweeper is not allowed to go back. After decades of this, people always remember the ancestral rules. One year, there were a lot of grave sweepers. On that day, after sweeping the grave, a woman dropped a basket cover in the cemetery and walked a long way back to get it. When she returned to the cemetery, there were countless black ants crawling on the bamboo basket cover. The woman picked up the bamboo basket and beat it on the stone corner of the tomb hall to kill the ants. It's a great knock! Unexpectedly, the golden bell on the Jinluan hall jingled, which shocked the emperor. The reason why the emperor sent Imperial Envoys to visit Jinzhong was finally found out after three years of investigation. It is said that there will be a real dragon emperor in Shanghang, Fujian. Shenglongkou is the tomb on the top of the three-story ridge. As the saying goes: a mountain can not accommodate two tigers, how can a country have two masters? The emperor called all the masters of Canyu to discuss the countermeasures. A Mingshi from Xingguo, Jiangxi Province, thought of a way to build a pagoda on the dragon vein acupoint of the tomb. This is the three story pagoda we see today.
