In the deep valley, there is a mountain peak, steep and beautiful, known as Prince stone. This is the most honorable gift of the people of Fanjing Mountain to empress dowager Li, the mother of Emperor Wanli of Ming Dynasty, who has made great contributions to the development of Buddhism in Fanjing Mountain. It is said that empress dowager Li, the mother of Emperor Zhu Yijun of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, once worked hard to become an immortal in Jiuhuang cave under the old golden roof of Fanjing Mountain, and finally rose by day. In order to find his mother, the little prince went to Niuwei river of Fanjing Mountain and called for his mother. Every time the little prince shouts, he grows a little higher. He grows so high now. The Buddha was afraid that he would see his mother in Jiuhuang cave and influence his mother's cultivation, so he put it in place and looked up to heaven forever. There are two bodhi trees on the top of the peak, which are the wisdom trees dedicated by Prince Shi to the world.
Prince's stone
At the south foot of laojinding in Fanjing Mountain and the source of Niuwei River, there stands a stone mountain with an altitude of 1748.2 meters, which looks like a giant looking up from afar. It is said that it was transformed by the crown prince, so it is called Prince stone.
Prince's stone is a peculiar scenic spot in Fanjing Mountain. The Niuwei River rushes by. In the early morning, with the sound of birds, the mist like continuous gossamer quietly disappears, the rosy clouds float on the head, and the white clouds stop on the hillside In this situation, who does not cry for the tragedy of the crown prince.
Development history
One of the sources
It is said that during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, jiuhuangniang, the concubine of Shenzong emperor, went to Fanjing Mountain in Guizhou Province to practice. The little prince didn't see his mother, so he didn't eat or drink. He cried and made a lot of noise. One day, he slipped out of the palace quietly, went through difficulties and tribulations, and finally went to the Niuwei river at the foot of Fanjing Mountain. The prince looked up at Jinding and called for his mother. The tearing and tearful voice echoed in the valley and stirred among the peaks. The immortal is moved by it, the mother is distressed by it. The prince was just about to climb up the mountain from the cliff to see his mother, but he was put in the oxtail Valley by the gods. The prince can't move his feet, so he looks around every day and grows very fast. The immortal was afraid that the crown prince would grow tall and meet his mother, which would cause the ninth emperor's mother to think of him. He planted a bodhi tree on the crown of the crown prince. Bodhi is the treasure of Fanjing Mountain. Zhang Ye has a Buddha statue. From then on, the prince no longer grew tall, so he turned into a stone.
Origin 2
It's said that jiuhuangniang was pregnant with the prince to practice in Fanjing Mountain. After she was born, she abandoned it to the wild and was raised by hunters. Sixteen years later, the crown prince searched for his mother and was put in the valley by the ninth emperor's mother. Sakyamuni Buddha and Maitreya Buddha, who are in charge of Fanjing Mountain, are envious of the rapid growth of the crown prince stone. They complain to the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor casts a big golden bell, suddenly covers the crown prince stone and nails two big nails. The golden bell was broken and stolen by Buddha Sakyamuni and Maitreya at night, and the iron nail was still cruelly nailed to the prince's stone. Jiuhuangniang ascends to heaven and loves her son. Regardless of the ban, she turns the iron nail into two towering ancient trees, Chen Xiangmu.
Origin 3
The origin of Prince Shi is different. It is said that during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the ninth concubine of Shenzong Emperor Zhu Yi (known as jiuhuangniang) came from the capital to cut her hair to become a nun. During her practice, she helped the poor, loved the old and pitied the young, and did many good things for the common people. She achieved good results and "became a saint in the flesh and rose in the daytime". So far, many of her legends and stories are still circulating among the Tujia people in Yinjiang at the foot of Fanjing Mountain. After jiuhuangniang became an immortal, her two relatives, Li Renzhi (to be called Uncle Li) and the prince, knew that it was a good thing, but after all, they could not see each other again, so they were in great pain. The emperor's uncle took the prince to look for the trace of jiuhuangniang in the mountain forest near Jinding, but he couldn't find it on the mountain. He went down to the mangao River to look for it. Both of them were too tired to walk, so they sat on the river and cried. Since jiuhuangniang ascended, they had not swallowed a grain of rice. After a long time of pain and water and rice did not enter, they died by the manger river. When Sakyamuni and Maitreya saw the death of their uncle and the prince, they called the mountain guard child prodigy into a yellow tiger. They took the body of their uncle up the mountain and put it on the side of the Jiuhuang cave. They sprinkled it with holy water and turned it into a big stone, which was called "the God of rectifying good and evil on the mountain". The mushroom stone that people see today was changed after uncle Guo died, so local people call it "Uncle Guo rock". The prince, after becoming a big stone by the mangao River, was granted the title of "the God of checking at the foot of the mountain" by the two Buddhas. However, he felt that his status was too low and was very unconvinced. He grew up every year and wanted to compare with Jin Xiang and share with Sakyamuni and Maitreya. The Jade Emperor knew about this and ordered the mountain god to plant a arhat tree on his head, forbidding him to grow up. On the top, the arhat tree is still green. If you go under the tree and look carefully, there is a arhat on each leaf.
The origin of Prince Shi varies. It is said that a scholar went to jiulongchi to wait for the fairy to come down to earth. The result is not known. However, the prince stood in the oxtail river every month to look up at her mother.
