--Tonggu Foguang was donated by Chen Yingdu, an overseas Chinese from Thailand. It is located in a beautiful harbor in Tongguling, a national nature reserve.

--This Buddhist quiet land is the geomantic treasure land of the pattern of left Green Dragon and right white tiger. It is full of incense, and most fishermen are devout believers.

Tongguling Foguang temple was funded by Mr. Chen Yingdu, a Thai Chinese from Wenchang, Hainan Province, in 1993. It was built in imitation of Sakyamuni Buddha statue and Buddhist temple on the top of Pattaya mountain in Thailand. It is known as "Tongguling Foguang Temple".

The total height of the statue is 16 meters, facing the South China Sea. On the front of the platform, there are seven small relief Buddhas. The body of Buddha is made of reinforced concrete, weighing 180 tons. The 151 step corridor of the pilgrimage Avenue is connected with the Buddha Hall. It is 86 meters long and 21.6 meters wide, with a total length of 98 meters from the first step to the platform base. The "Foguang Temple" was inscribed by Cheng Shifa, a famous Chinese calligrapher and painter.

The Buddhist Scripture Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra, written by the 32nd generation Buddhist monk Shixing of Shaolin Temple in Henan Province, is also worshipped in Foguang temple. This volume of Scripture, together with the stone carving of Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra in Nanshan Buddhist culture garden in Sanya and the rubbings of Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra collected by Mo Shaode, a regular script of Qing Dynasty Jinshi in Ding'an County Museum, is called "three treasures of Heart Sutra" in Hainan.
