Zhengyang Bridge
Located at the intersection of Renmin Road and loujiang River in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, Zhengyang bridge is the most famous modern bridge in Kunshan City. The North Bank of the bridge is Zhenchuan West Road, the main east-west road in the urban area, and the south bank is Zhengyang building, Xicheng river bank and Nancheng river bank road. There are a lot of shops on both sides of the road, the traffic is heavy, and the flow of people is very large.

Zhengyang bridge was rebuilt and opened to traffic on April 29, 2007. It is a deck steel arch bridge with a span of 44.87m and a width of 32.6m. There are six arch ribs in total. The arch ribs are connected horizontally in a "meter" shape. The bridge deck is made of steel orthogonal special-shaped plates. The longitudinal stiffening is closed stiffening. Six rows of columns are set on each side of the arch, and the columns are connected with the beams. A full belly arch section pedestrian bridge is set on both sides of the bridge The channel has a clear width of 5.0m; a 6 * 6m platform is set at four corner points on both sides of the bridge, and escalators are set on the platform to connect with the viewing trail. Main quantities: 7847 cubic meters of commercial concrete, 1876 tons of cement (for mixing pile), 495 tons of reinforcement, 649.15 tons of steel structure. The total cost of the project is 23.9 million yuan, and the total investment of the project is 42 million yuan.

Historical changes
In Kunshan, it is well known that Zhengyang bridge has always been the "Facade" of Kunshan. Whether you get off the train to enter the city or take a boat to enter the city in loujiang River, it is the first thing people see. The Shanghai Nanjing railway has been open to traffic for more than 100 years, and the station in Kunshan has been set up for more than 100 years. However, it was not until 1923 that the Zhengyang bridge, a new type of bridge, was built on the west side of Chaoyangmen bridge and the south side of cangtan Street to connect the railway station with the traffic in the city and take rickshaws to reach any place in the city. Before that, rickshaws had to take a detour on a small road, and they could only stop at the south end of the city bridge. Old Zhengyang bridge, there is a not small river port, commonly known as "big beach.". Farmers from four townships set up boats here to sell rice straw, watermelon and vegetables. Residents came here with wooden pots to wash clothes. On the west side is the ship wharf, and on the west side is the bus station. People from south to north have to pass Zhengyang bridge. It's a natural business center. In the 1960s and 1970s, the slope of Zhengyang bridge was not high. The concrete and green brick railings were very simple. There were houses in beitu to block it. Only by bypassing Caishi road could we reach the main street (Renmin Road). In 1977, with the commencement of the loujiang water conservancy project, Kunshan ushered in the first round of urban construction boom. The first section of the city river was widened, the dilapidated bungalows blocking traffic were demolished, and Renmin Road extended southward to connect with the railway station. After the widening of loujiang River, the reconstruction of Zhengyang bridge is imperative. At that time, the new Zhengyang bridge was designed and constructed by the engineering team of Kunshan Water Conservancy Bureau, with a total cost of 150000 yuan. It is a reinforced concrete truss arch bridge, 12 meters wide, 7 meters of roadway, 2.5 meters of sidewalks on both sides. The designers of Zhengyang bridge can not say that they have no sense of advance. But before long, it was found that the bridge deck was narrow. Therefore, sidewalks were added on both sides of the bridge to double the width of Zhengyang bridge. However, the development of Kunshan is changing with each passing day, and the speed of city expansion is beyond everyone's imagination. The Zhengyang bridge is one of the most important bridges in the world. It has been built in the north and south of the bridge from morning to night. Because of the heavy burden of the bridge, it has been rebuilt again. The scale of the bridge is far larger than before. The Zhengyang bridge, which has experienced 86 years of vicissitudes, has a majestic style across the loujiang river.
In 2008, with Zhengyang bridge as the core, the municipal government invested in the construction of loujiang landscape belt. Standing on the bridge, looking up, the river is shining in the spring, just like a silver line extending to the distance. The well-designed hydrophilic plank road, the viewing bridge built across the river, the lights, fountains and cultural walls are beautiful. At night, the bright lights are reflected on the river, making people forget to return.
