Glass Museum
Tacoma, the third largest city in Washington state, has a glass museum worth visiting. The museum consists of four concepts: fire, water, earth and sky. The entrance is from the old union station, through an overpass hanging on the highway and rail to the museum. Before entering the museum, there is a long corridor to announce the exhibition of glass art. The top floor connects with the overpass to form a square, on which water is displayed. It is a large round cone (similar to the technique of Japanese architect Mikado Kurokawa).
Tacoma National Museum of glass
In addition to transforming the roof of the exhibition hall into a square and displaying the night view with a glass sculpture pool, the museum is also close to the yacht harbor. Therefore, the restaurant side is set next to the harbor, and the pool creates the overall impression. It can be said that it is an ingenious recreation ground that provides three-dimensional space for the public.
Covering an area of 75000 square feet, it was completed and opened in 2002. The museum is the first important art museum project designed by the famous Canadian architect Arthur Erickson in the United States. It has become an International Center for contemporary glass art, which is used to show the glass making process and creative art. The design organically uses several elements of water, earth, light and fire. Fire is the source of glass art.
In 2003, the glass museum was named one of the "seven wonders of the world" of the latest modern architecture by the famous American travel magazine Conde Nast traveler.
Seattle is famous for its glass technology in the world. At that time, Dale Chihuly, a glass master, was born in Tacoma.

The birth of G + glass theme park concept
The former Shanghai glass factory is located in Baoshan District, Shanghai, covering an area of 29612 square meters. There are 30 buildings of different ages and sizes in the park. Logo Roan has formulated a 20-year development strategy for the park and renamed it G + Glass Theme Park (glass, art, research and Technology Park). The first phase of the project includes Shanghai Glass Museum and hot glass demonstration center, covering a total area of 5785 square meters.
Shanghai Light Industry Glass Co., Ltd. plans to build a new glass museum on the original site of Shanghai glass factory. Due to its remote location, it is not well known to the public, so the strategy of the first phase project is not to make profits, but to attract more tourists first. The business strategy of the project aims to enhance the brand awareness of the whole park, the surrounding environment and the brand value of Baoshan District, and the concept of Shanghai Glass Museum is formed. The later stage projects of G + glass theme park also include: sculpture plaza phase II, science and Technology Plaza Phase III and Business Park Phase IV. these later stage projects will be equipped with complete commercial facilities and are expected to be completed in 2018.
"Second class" Museum: Innovation of conventional mode
Shanghai Glass Museum is one of the few glass museums in China, but its uniqueness is not limited to this. Logo lab has formulated the development strategy of G + glass theme park and the key project positioning decision for the park: that is to build the first phase of the park into a "second class" multi-functional Glass Museum. This new type of museum is very different from the ordinary "first class" museum. Ordinary museums have convenient transportation, and people usually complete the visit in a very short time. The location of the project is far away from the city center, and the subway and other modes of transportation are not convenient enough. People are not willing to spend 1 to 2 hours on the road
Watch a museum that can only stay for half an hour.
Another feature of the "second category" museum is its versatility. It can provide rich entertainment activities, attract tourists to visit, and stay here for 2 hours or more. In addition to the glass theme exhibition, Shanghai Glass Museum has hot glass demonstration center, DIY workshop, lecture space, small library and other rich and wonderful activities, so that different groups of people can have fun and education here.
Shanghai Glass Museum: a new and old building
The multi-functional design of Shanghai Glass Museum includes exhibition space, hot glass demonstration, DIY workshop, lecture space, library, cafe, activity space, shop, public space, etc. This sustainable renovation design integrates the old and new features and gives the project a sense of modernity. It is the pioneer of the "second class" Museum in China. The entrance square is the facade of the museum, which has high recognition and guides visitors to the museum, hot glass demonstration center and other places in the park. The new building standing on the entrance square welcomes the tourists. The bright Museum lobby is in sharp contrast to the black facade, which gives visitors a fresh and impressive feeling. The facade is made of U-shaped glass imported from Germany. After sand spraying and coating treatment, the multi-national characters related to glass are outlined. The LED lamp behind the glass facade lights up the text on the black background, creating a dazzling effect. Shanghai Glass Museum will provide visitors with an experience place integrating entertainment and education, and will also bring more benefits to the government and people of Baoshan District.
