Life story

In the period of Yao and Shun in ancient times, in today's Central Plains hinterland of Xuchang City, there was a high scholar named Xu you, who was the leader of Kunwu tribe and the ancestor of today's surname Xu Kai. According to records, Xu you led his tribe people to live mainly in today's Xuchang Yanling County and Dengfeng City Jishan area. After Emperor Yao knew it, he wanted to give up the throne to him. Xu you didn't want to be an official, so he fled to Jishan and lived in seclusion. Yao asked him to be the governor of Kyushu. He went to Yingshui to wash his ears and said he didn't want to hear this kind of words. Finally, Yao passed on the throne to shun. In 2005, experts from Dengfeng Municipal Administration of cultural relics renovated the tomb of Xu you, Xu's ancestor. In recent years, Chinese of the Xu family at home and abroad have come to Jishan to find their roots and ask their ancestors, set up the Xu family fraternity, and decided to unite the descendants of the Xu family from all over the world to worship their ancestors on September 4. The ceremony in Dengfeng will be organized by the descendants of Xu family at home and abroad,. The exact location of Xu you's tomb is at the northeast end of the top of Jishan mountain, 15 kilometers southeast of Dengfeng City. It is round, about 20 meters in diameter and 6 meters in height. It is made of miscellaneous stones and sand. Due to years of washing, the tomb has collapsed and deformed.
