Tengchong No.1 middle school, founded in 1915, is the largest complete middle school in 25 border counties of Yunnan Province, with high school as the main body. In 2001, the school was identified as a complete secondary school in Yunnan Province. The school is located at the foot of Laifeng mountain, behind the student dormitory is Laifeng mountain. Tengchong No.1 middle school, located in Tengchong City, Yunnan Province, was recognized as the first-class and third-class complete middle school of Yunnan Province by Yunnan Provincial Department of education in 2001, the first-class and second-class complete middle school of Yunnan Province in 2008, and was promoted to the first-class and first-class complete middle school of Yunnan Province in December 2014.

School history
Tengchong No.1 middle school was founded in July 1915. It was initiated by Li Gengen, a senior citizen of the Republic of China, and Xu Jiayu, a county governor. It was commissioned by Li Yueqi, Wu Jialu, Liu Chuxiang, etc. The school was initially located near Xiufeng mountain in the county seat, where the former County Primary School of higher learning was established.
In 1916, he moved to the temple of the God of wealth at the northern foot of Laifeng mountain in the south of the city. The first president was cunfuqing, the magistrate of Zhennan (now Nanhua County), who was a student studying in Japan in the Qing Dynasty.
In 1922, the headmaster Liu Chuxiang submitted to the Provincial Department of education for approval to recruit students from all ethnic groups in the Tusi (Nandian, Ganya, Zhanda, Longchuan) of Tengyue Road, and changed the school name to Tengchong and other five affiliated United middle schools.
In 1931, it changed its name to Tengchong and other five subordinate Gongli middle schools, and added female middle school.
In 1938, the Provincial Department of education merged the five affiliated Gongli middle school, Fengrui high school and Yunnan Provincial Tengyue border simple normal school to establish Yunnan Tengyue middle school. Xiong Tingzhu, a master of Science in the United States, was appointed as the headmaster to run high school classes and simple teacher classes.
In May 1942, due to the invasion of Japanese invaders, Tengchong was occupied and the school was forced to stop.
After the restoration of Tengchong, the school was restored in May 1945.
Tengchong was liberated in December 1949, and the people's government took over the school.
In 1950, the county vocational school, the county women's middle school and the provincial middle school were merged and renamed Tengchong County People's middle school.
In early 1951, Renmin middle school was renamed Tengchong middle school.
In 1953, it was renamed Tengchong No.1 middle school.
In 2001, it was recognized as a third class complete middle school in Yunnan Province by Yunnan Provincial Department of education
