Cloud nest

Yunwo belongs to Wuyishan Tianyou peak scenic area, which can be said to be one of the most beautiful places in Wuyishan. It is located on the North Bank of Wuqu and Liuqu of Jiuqu River, between the bamboo shoot peak and Xianzhang peak. It is close to mountains and water, and has many strange peaks. Every morning and dusk, there are often clouds floating around here. The best time to observe clouds is in the morning and evening of late spring and early autumn. The cloud nest can be divided into upper and lower cloud nests. The back rock faces the water, and the ring of the sound rock, Danlu peak, wandui peak, Tianyou peak and Yinping peak are all around. There are many caves hidden under the towering rocks. In winter and spring, wisps of smoke and clouds often escape from the caves and roll between the peaks and rocks.

Cloud nest

Yunwo is located under the xibiyan of jiezhufeng, surrounded by shengrenyan, danluyan, xianjiyan, tianzhufeng, dressing table and cangpingfeng. The megalith is built on the back of the water and is located in the essence of the Wuyishan scenic spot.

The origin of the name

There are more than ten caves in yunwo. In the morning and evening of winter and spring, light clouds often emerge from the cave and wander among the peaks and rocks. Sometimes they gather together, sometimes they disperse, freely and unpredictable, so it is called yunwo.

The cloud nest can be divided into upper and lower parts. The upper part of the iron elephant rock is called the upper cloud nest; the lower part of the rock is called the lower cloud nest.

Historical records

According to the records of Wuyi Mountain records, yunwo has always been the place where ancient literati and hermits lived to nourish their hearts. In the 11th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1583 AD), Chen Sheng, the Minister of the Ministry of war, built "Youxi cottage" between shangyunwo and xiayunwo. There are 16 pavilions, platforms, buildings and pavilions, including binyuntang, qiyunge, chaoyunlou, shengyuntai, chiyunting and tingyunting, which are very magnificent. Unfortunately, these buildings have long been abandoned, leaving only a few cliff inscriptions among the rocks, which can still vaguely remind people of the past prosperity.

In order to restore the historical features of yunwo, the first place of Wuyi, the Wuyishan Management Committee rebuilt more than ten bamboo, wood and cement structures on the original site, such as Shuiyue Pavilion, Shimao Qinglian Pavilion, Baiyun Pavilion, Wangxian Pavilion and Xianyi Pavilion. Some of these pavilions are built on the mountainside of the towering wall, some on the Bank of the Jiuqu River, some in the bamboo forest, and there are antique wooden chairs in the pavilions for tourists to rest.

Traffic information: tourist bus in the scenic spot - in Wuyishan Scenic Spot, there are four tourist buses that can pass through some scenic spots, among which No.1 and No.2 are environmental friendly sightseeing buses, which respectively go from the main entrance of chishi and the secondary entrance of Shangpu to Xingcun secondary entrance, while No.3 and No.4 branch lines are single line buses of China bus, which go from the main entrance of chishi to Xingcun secondary entrance and the newly-built parking lot.
