Historical evolution

The origin of the predecessor

Fuzhou Teachers College

Founded in 1958, the school is located in Guohuo Road, Fuzhou.

In 1960, it was renamed Fuzhou Normal University.

In 1961, it was merged into Nanping Teachers College.

In May 1978, Fuzhou normal college class was resumed, which was called Fuzhou normal college class. It was scattered in several schools in the city.

In the spring of 1979, it was located at Wangzhuang, Liuyi road.

In July 1981, it was renamed Fuzhou teachers college.

In 1987, he moved to guangminggang, Changle Road.

 

Minjiang Vocational University

In July 1984, it was established with the approval of Fujian Provincial People's government. It originally had Cangshan and Gulou Branch schools.

In November 1985, the two campuses merged.

In July 1986, Fuzhou Vocational College of journalism was merged.

From August 1988 to July 1991, Majiang branch was set up in Mawei.

 

Merger development

On March 21, 2002, the Ministry of Education issued a letter to approve the establishment of Minjiang college on the basis of the merger of Fuzhou normal college and Minjiang Vocational University, and confirmed that Fujian Province should lead and manage it, and implement the system of running a school jointly built by the province and the city (Fuzhou City) and dominated by the city.

 

On January 12, 2010, "Xinhua Du Business School" was founded.

 

In October 2011, the University was selected as the pilot University of master's degree education of "serving the special needs of the country".

 

In June 2017, the University became the "first batch of model universities to deepen innovation and entrepreneurship education reform" in Fujian Province;

 

In August of the same year, the University officially entered the ranks of key universities in Fujian Province.

 

In January 2018, the University was newly added as the "list of master's degree awarding and cultivating units in Fujian Province from 2018 to 2020"; in March of the same year, it was selected as the first-class discipline construction university in Fujian Province.

 

 

In December 2019, the school was selected into the "double ten thousand plan".

As of December 2019, the school has 1028 full-time teachers and 106 external teachers. Among them, there are 288 "double qualification" teachers, accounting for 28.02% of full-time teachers; 484 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, accounting for 47.08% of full-time teachers; 908 full-time teachers with graduate degrees (Master's degree and doctor's degree), accounting for 88.33% of full-time teachers.

In 2019, the school students won the silver medal and gold medal of the fifth "Internet plus" College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship competition, and the "Challenge Cup" College Students' extracurricular academic competition in science and technology competition, the national two prize and the provincial top prize. Foreign exchange

Scientific research achievements

As of October 2012, school teachers have undertaken 1610 scientific research projects at all levels, including 30 national scientific research projects and 193 provincial (ministerial) projects. As of 2011, it has won 27 awards for scientific research achievements and 26 authorized patents issued by governments at or above the provincial level, published 5827 academic papers (221 included by SCI, SSCI, EI and ISTP), and edited 225 academic works.

 

In 2019, the university will add 20 national scientific research projects, 52 provincial and ministerial projects and 6 provincial scientific research platforms. Four projects won the provincial social science outstanding achievement award, and four projects won the provincial science and technology award.

Journal of Minjiang University, formerly known as journal of Fuzhou Teachers College, was founded in 1981. In 2002, the University was upgraded to an undergraduate university, which is a comprehensive academic journal published in China and abroad. The journal has been included in China Journal Network, China Academic Journal (CD version), Wanfang Data Digital Journal group, Chinese science and technology journal database (Chongqing VIP), superstar database, etc.
