Nanzhao Baotianman

Baotianman, a national AAAA scenic spot, is the core part of Funiu Mountain World Geopark in Nanyang, one of the World Biosphere reserves and a national nature reserve. In September 2001, it was approved as a world man and biosphere reserve by UNESCO, and in September 2006, it was approved as a World Geopark by UNESCO. Nanzhao Baotianman is located in Nanzhao County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. It is located in the hinterland of Funiu Mountain. It is connected with Song County in the northwest, Lushan Mountain in the northeast and Neixiang in the southwest. Its geographical coordinates are 33 degrees 27-33 degrees 32 minutes north latitude and 111 degrees 55-112 degrees 02 minutes east longitude. It covers a total area of 86.4 square kilometers and its main peak is 1830 meters above sea level. The ancient and luxuriant primeval forest and rich and unique wild animal and plant resources rank first in the country at the same latitude, and are praised as "natural species gene bank" and "Zhongzhou green pearl" by Chinese and foreign experts.

According to the preliminary investigation, there are more than 2900 species of higher plants in the area, including 31 species of national key protected plants, such as Taxus chinensis and national endangered plant fimbria; more than 380 species of wild animals, including 48 species of national key protected wild animals, such as leopard and Swertia deer; more than 3000 species of insects, including 160 species of butterflies alone. The only complete primary secondary forest in Henan Province is preserved in this area.

The first plank road in Central Plains

Baotian gorge is a deep canyon with cliffs. The plank road winding between the canyons starts from Youlong waterfall and ends at Lianxin waterfall, with a total length of 4.5km. Most of the road sections are close to the cliff. When you climb on it, it seems that you can go straight up to the sky. When you look down, you can see the water mist, dense mountain haze and almost fairyland. It is called "the first plank road in the Central Plains" and "Yulong plank road" because of Youlong waterfall.

You long waterfall

The drop of Youlong waterfall is 168 meters. The peaks on both sides of the waterfall face each other, and the cliff stands up. The waterfall twists and turns between the canyons, like a vigorous Youlong waterfall, so it is named "Youlong waterfall". Leopard cave

Leopard is the overlord of Baotianman's animal world. There is a folk saying that "there is no tiger in the mountain, leopard is king". The cow escaped by chance, but left the name of "leopard cave" here.

Immortal book of heaven

Happy forest / happy bridge

The small bridge in front of the forest is happy bridge. As the saying goes: sit in the forest happily and spend a year happily. Another cloud: take a walk on the happy bridge to compete with the immortals.

Tongtian waterfall

Looking ahead, a waterfall falls down from the cliff, connecting with the sky, so it is called Tongtian waterfall. Tongtian waterfall falls in two levels, with a total drop of 238 meters, which is the largest waterfall in Baotian gorge. It is said that people can hear the sounds of the gods singing and dancing at the edge of the Jiutian yaochi Lake under the Tongtian waterfall on the night of the full moon.

Dongdishi / jingtianyan

In front of Tongtian waterfall, there is a huge rectangular stone standing on the other one below. From a distance, it seems to be crumbling, but from a close view, it is as stable as Mount Tai. It is called moving rock. According to scientific research, the rock fell from Jingtian rock on the upper right 3 million years ago. After the trees fall leaves in winter, you can see the huge depression on Jingtian rock.

Connecting to Tianya

Looking ahead, on the left side of Tongtian waterfall, the painted screen rock is covered with moss, just like a picture scroll, and on the right side, Jingtian rock stabs the green sky, like a guard. The cliffs on both sides form a giant cliff connecting the earth and the sky, which is called Jietian cliff. It is like a natural barrier of Baotian gorge, blocking the North-South air flow, forming a unique microclimate in Baotian gorge.

Tongxin pool

In the gorge, there is a clear pool with clear water. When you look at the bottom of the pool, you can see that the edge of the pool is zigzag, but it forms a love. The local people call this pool Tongxin pool. It is said that lovers wishing on this pool can protect each other's love and marriage.

Lianxin waterfall

Looking back, a waterfall falls down from the cliff, and the turbulent water flows down from the cliff. Traffic information

Self driving: get off the Nanzhao exit of Er Guang expressway, turn to provincial highway 331 via national highway 207 to Qiaoduan Town, and then turn to Baotianman special highway in Nanzhao. It's 56 kilometers from the county to the scenic spot, with two-way two lanes and asphalt pavement. The road condition is good.

Bus: there are two buses arriving at the scenic spot at 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the new bus station of Nanzhao county every day. Arrive at the scenic spot at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
