Zhichun Pavilion

Chinese gardening art is an important part of traditional culture. It is famous at home and abroad for its elegance and rich oriental color. The representative of ancient buildings: pavilions, bridges and boats are not only places for tourists to enjoy the scenery and rest, but also indispensable ornaments of the whole landscape. Pavilion is the first of the ancient buildings, which is often used to decorate the landscape. Zhichun Pavilion is located on the East Bank of Kunming Lake in the summer palace, with double eaves and four corners. You can have a view of the whole garden. Weeping willows are planted all over the pavilion. The scenery is wonderful in spring. It is said that the word "Zhichun" originated from the song poem "the prophet of duck on the warm spring river". The thawing of Kunming Lake always starts here every spring. So it was named Zhichun Pavilion.

Zhichun Pavilion

Zhichun Pavilion is located on the East Bank of Kunming Lake in the summer palace, with a construction area of 104.84 square meters and double eaves and four corners. Development history

Zhichun pavilion was originally built in 1760. The island is surrounded by water and isolated from the shore. In 1893, when the Zhichun pavilion was rebuilt, a flat bridge was built to the east of the pavilion to facilitate Cixi's visit to the island, connecting the original island in the middle of the lake with the East Bank of the lake. In 1943, zhichunting lake bank sank. In 1950, the paper ceiling in the pavilion was replaced by wood ceiling. Since then, Zhichun Pavilion and related bridges and lakeshore have been decorated, renovated and maintained for many times.

From a close-up view, the Zhichun Pavilion, with its double eaves and spires, is beautiful. The wooden bridge connecting the two islands, and the Wenchang Pavilion on the east bank form a group of fresh and harmonious landscapes. From the perspective of the overall landscape, such as the Kunming Lake or the West Bank, this group of landscape makes the Northeast skyline of the lake full and rich, sparse and thick. The pavilion, together with the north facing buildings such as "Yulan hall", "Rixi Jialou" and "Shuimu Ziqin", forms an encircling tranquil harbor, which adds a kind of friendly and peaceful atmosphere to the vast front lake of Kunming Lake. The function of the pavilion as a scenic spot is very prominent. Compared with being a landscape, Zhichun Pavilion is more excellent and irreplaceable. It provides visitors with an excellent view of the whole garden. On the pavilion, you can see three sides from the vast radian, Wanshou mountain and FOXIANG Pavilion in the north, beautiful dike in the west, Yuquan mountain and Lanying in the west, Dragon King Temple and shiqikong bridge in the south.

Zhichun pavilion has a building area of 104.84 square meters and a height of 2.55 meters. There are 7 holes under the bridge and granite piers. On the bridge, there are two slopes, 22 balustrades on both sides, 24 watchposts and dark red paint. Take two steps. Zhichun Pavilion in the middle of the small island faces east and West, with an area of 75.69 square meters and a height of 4.25 meters. Double eaves, four corners and a sharp square top, there is a kiss beast hanging beast. Su style painting, well (peony) ceiling. All sides of the decoration is the same, there are benches and upside down Mei son, bluestone platform, corner stone, four Ruyi bluestone steps. The plaque of "Zhichun Pavilion" in Cixi book was hung. In the north of the building, Wanshou mountain is the screen, while in the south, the sun rises, and spring comes earlier. There is also a three hole bridge in the west of the pavilion leading to a smaller island. The bridge is a flat and two slopes, East and west facing. The pillar and drum are painted with vermilion paint, and the fence board is carved with long flowers. There are three steps to the east of the bridge and two steps to the west of the bridge. Pavilions and bridges were repaired in Guangxu and the Republic of China.

Zhichun Pavilion is one of the most popular pavilions in the summer palace. Zhichun Pavilion is the best scenic spot to enjoy the panoramic view of Wanshou mountain, Kunming Lake and Yuquan mountain. You can enjoy the 17 hole bridge in the South and the carved beams and painted buildings in Wenchang High Pavilion on the east bank. The low Island, high Pavilion, flat bridge and Wenchang Pavilion of Zhichun pavilion are well arranged, which enriches the overall spatial level of the garden and deepens the dynamic effect of jumping.

The pavilion is surrounded by peach and tapeworm willows, which report the news of spring to people early in the "5969" season. Zhichun pavilion has two special advantages: one is landscape, the other is sightseeing.
