At the request of the merchants in Acheng, the Buddha statues were worshipped in the temple of God of wealth, and the middle hall and two verandas were successively built, and the temple of wealth was changed into "Haihui Temple". Later, it was renewed and expanded during the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Guangxu.
Haihui temple is mainly composed of the main hall, Dabei Pavilion, guild hall, Liugong temple and other parts. It covers an area of nearly 100 mu. There are 168 original buildings, and now only 81 are left. The main building is basically intact after more than 200 years of wind and rain erosion.
The layout of the temple and guild hall is strict and the axis is clear. From south to north along the central axis are the gate, the front hall, the middle hall, and the back hall. The plaque on the mountain gate is inscribed with the words "Haihui Temple". There is a pair of stone lions in front of the gate, which is vivid in shape. On the East and west sides of the front yard, there are two floors of bells and drums, three main halls (front halls), with statues of Guandi and Weituo, and four heavenly kings on the East and West gables. The three central halls in the central courtyard are hall style buildings. Located in the backyard, the main hall is five rooms wide and three rooms deep. Inside, there are three wood carvings and painted seated statues of the third Buddha. The height of the statue is about one foot and three feet, and the height of the base is more than three feet. There are two stone tablets in front of the hall, which are written by Emperor Kangxi. There are two symmetrical courtyards in the East and west of the backyard. The main building of the West courtyard is Dabei Pavilion, which is also called Qianfo Pavilion. The two stone tablets in front of the temple are engraved with inscriptions on the history of the temple. The main buildings of the east courtyard are the Abbot's pavilion and the Sutra collection building, which are small and elegant. In front of the pavilion is the pagoda garden. In the east of the pavilion is the temple of Liu Gong. Another courtyard is set up by Liu zhe (a former governor of Shandong Province), a Shanxi dismissed official who had made great contributions to the temple construction.
On the west side of Haihui temple is Yunsi guild hall, which is also called Shanxi guild hall because it was built by Shanxi businessmen. Courtyard into two, its own system. In front of the gate is a large screen wall with a length of several tens of meters. A theater building is built on the door opening. The second floor inside the theater is transferred to another building, and the upper floor is connected with the theater building. There are three halls on the front, which are the meeting places for Shanxi people. Through the hall, you can enter the backyard, which is the Guandi temple, where you can worship Guandi.
