Zhaoqing small Three Gorges

Located in the middle of Xijiang River in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, Sanrong gorge, Dading gorge and Lingyang gorge are called Zhaoqing small Three Gorges.

Xijiang River is one of the main tributaries of the Pearl River. It originates in Guizhou Province and flows into Guangdong Province from Wuzhou, Guangxi Province. In Zhaoqing City, the length of Xijiang River is 225 km. The width of Xijiang River is about 1000 meters. The widest part is the section of jinlihaikou, which is 1125 meters. The narrowest part is the section of lingyangxia, which is 330 meters. The Zhaoqing river section is a narrow river section with a large groove shape due to its peculiar mountain shape. From west to East, there are Sanrong gorge, Dading gorge and Lingyang gorge, also known as "Xijiang small Three Gorges". The scenery of Xijiang River is famous for its Three Gorges. There are many historic sites on both sides of the Three Gorges.

Sanrong Gorge

There are Sanrong gorge, 5000 meters long, with surging rivers and green mountains. There are beautiful sceneries of Diaoyutai in Rongxia gorge. During the flood season in summer, the river is like ten thousand horses galloping and roaring like thunder. When winter comes, the river is blue, and the North Bank of the river is rugged with grotesque rocks, which is called Diaoyutai. Diaoyutai's original pavilions are for visitors to have a rest and enjoy the scenery by the railings.

Dading Gorge

In the middle reaches, there is Dading gorge, 200 meters long. There is Zhenshui Dading, one of the famous sceneries of Dading gorge, which is named for its shape like a ding. Xijiang River flows here with great momentum, such as Ding suojiang. Dading mountain once had a "Dading Temple", overlooking the Xijiang River. There are many visitors on weekdays. During the Double Ninth Festival, tourists gather and flow incessantly. At the exit of Dading gorge, there are five mountains stretching out to the river. It looks like five horses galloping down from the mountains and turning back quickly. The image is vivid. This is the famous spot of "five horses return to work". Further down the north bank is guiding mountain, which is the scenic spot of "guisuo Suo Dajiang". Built in 1920, guidingshan fort is one of the seven fort built by Lin Hu, the garrison envoy of Luoyang, in Zhaoqing. The fort is also equipped with three beacon towers and a bunker. The beacon tower is also on the top of the mountain, 36 meters apart, ranging in diameter from 3.8 meters to 4.2 meters, with a wall of blue bricks; the bunker is located on the northeast side of the mountain, slightly lower in front of the beacon tower, 20 meters long and 10 meters wide, with the bottom 1.25 meters above the ground.

Lingyang Gorge

There is antelope gorge in the lower reaches, 7500 meters long. The mountain peaks on both sides are more than 800 meters high. In the north is the antelope mountain, and in the south is the Ranke mountain. A waterway is split between the two mountains by the great power of the Xijiang River. When entering the gorge, the water surface is more than 1000 meters wide, and after entering the gorge, it is as narrow as 300 meters. The gorge, with its unique, precipitous, dangerous, majestic and beautiful features, has always been a must for military strategists. Gaoyao county was established in Han Dynasty, and the name of Gaoyao comes from the meaning of lingyangxia. In the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Xianfeng set up a customs in lingyangxia, and warlords Li Zongren and Bai Chongxi built blockhouses on the hillside of the exit gorge. There is a confrontation between Longhua ancient temple and Xiashan ancient temple in Xiakou, as well as Hanbi garden and jingshe, the second peak of Guiyuan. Lingxia Guifan is one of the famous "ten scenes of Duanzhou" in the past dynasties. There are many fishes here, such as edge fish in spring, three Lai in summer, carp in autumn, mud carp in winter, pomfret and eight beard prawns. Most fishermen come here to fish, go out early and return late. There are a lot of sails at the mouth of antelope gorge, which is very spectacular. Qingfengxian Pavilion is also one of the scenic spots of lingyangxia. There are steep cliffs and precipitous terrain. For many years, the trackers have set foot on a narrow path. Later, they built plank roads and bridges. "Peigong 19 bridge", "breeze on the river", "beautiful mountains and rivers" and other inscriptions still exist.
