Ji'an Donggou ancient tombs are located in Ji'an County, Jilin Province. Because of the Laoling mountains running through the whole area from northeast to southwest, the rivers are crisscross, and the scenery is pleasant, they are known as "little Jiangnan" in Northeast China. At the same time, it is also a key protected scenic spot in Jilin Province. Donggou ancient tombs are distributed in the Donggou plain area surrounded by mountains. There are more than 10000 tombs left over from the 700 years since the founding of the Republic of Koguryo. There are 7160 tombs in good condition. These ancient tombs are widely distributed, stretching for tens of miles. In addition, there are many kinds of tombs with profound connotation. Gwanggaeto Stele
It's the tombstone of the 19th king of Koguryo, King Heian Haotai. During the reign of King Haotai, the political, economic and military power of Koguryo developed unprecedentedly. In order to expand the ruling area, he continued to fight, and after his death, he became "the great king of peace in the country.". To commemorate his father's achievements, his son, King Changshou, built this huge monument 200 meters to the east of Haotai mausoleum in the 10th year of Yixi reign, which has been standing for 1570 years. Haotaiwang stele is made of a whole piece of natural breccia tuff. It is slightly square and columnar in shape, and its inscription is official script of Chinese characters. The stele is 6.39 meters high and 1.34-2.00 meters wide. It is surrounded by inscriptions. There are 44 lines of inscriptions and 1775 words in total. At present, there are about 1590 words left.

The origin of the name
There is still such a controversy about the origin of the name of the Donggou ancient tombs. In fact, it is called Tonggou plain. There is a plain alluvial by Tonggou River, and most of the tombs are distributed on the plain alluvial by this river. It is still a matter of right to name Tonggou. But why is it called Donggou? It is because the Japanese "cultural robber" Nakai, who was the first to come to Ji'an and did archaeological research on the ruins of Koguryo, did not pronounce "Tong" accurately and read "Tong" as "Dong" and wrote "Donggou" in his research materials, so the name of Donggou ancient tomb has been extended
