Ciqing Temple
The ancient ciqing temple is located on the top of the north peak of Longshou mountain, formerly known as Xiufeng temple and Shuichao temple, also known as Sanqing temple.
architectural composition
The temple is a simple quadrangle building with main hall, East and west side hall, sutra Pavilion and zuiwang tower. In front of the courtyard, there are two stele pavilions, half wall and Suyun. The main hall is three rooms wide and two rooms deep. There are corridors under the eaves and bright colored paintings on the horizontal beams. Inside the hall, there are three Buddha statues including Sakyamuni and eight clay statues of Vajra. Zuiwonglou was originally a mountain gate. When it was rebuilt in 1921, it was changed into a two-story building with wooden structure and hard mountain style. The first floor is the access to the temple. The second floor was originally a place where literati drank tea and wrote poems, but now it is changed into a VIP lounge. There are many paintings and calligraphy of celebrities chanting Longshoushan. Xiufeng Temple Pagoda is located 100 meters south of ciqing temple. It is an octagonal nine level solid brick Pagoda with dense eaves. It was also built in Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in 1591. There are brick Buddha statues and niches in the tower. There are Taoran Pavilion in the north of Xiufeng temple tower, Ditui Pavilion in the South and Kuixing tower in the south. There is also a small stone pavilion to the east of Xiufeng Temple Pagoda. The stone tablet in the pavilion records the restoration process of the ancient pagoda.
