Hefei City Square

Hefei city square has a special geographical location. It is adjacent to the provincial government in the South and the municipal government in the north. It is not only the political activity center of Hefei, but also the business, financial and transportation network center of Hefei. The square is surrounded by four surrounding roads, covering an area of 50000 square meters, and its central square covers a net area of 25000 square meters. It is divided into two parts: ground square and underground garage, with a total investment of 110 million yuan. It started construction in March 2000 and officially opened to the public on May 1, 2001. The city square fully reflects the characteristics of Hefei as a historical and cultural city, as well as a new science and technology and garden city. The layout of the square highlights "one point and three axes", that is, taking the office building of the municipal government as the starting point, introducing the "cultural axis", "science and technology axis" and "S-shaped" natural axis "reflecting the characteristics of Hefei to organically combine into a central square. The S-shaped "natural axis" is curved, like a cutting line to divide the central square into two main squares. One is a cultural square with culture and various large-scale urban activities, and the other is a leisure square with pools, music fountains and sketches.

Brief introduction to the square

The first thing that comes into view is the "science and technology axis" of the square. "Science and technology axis" is a sculpture with the theme of "life and movement" in the north section of Huayuan street, with the square fountain as the background. On the axis, modern components such as stainless steel, touch multimedia, music fountain, clock fountain and modern lighting are used to highlight the theme of Science and technology. The "century globe" with a diameter of 2 meters shows that Hefei has more and more frequent exchanges among human beings on the earth today. Friends from all over the world are very welcome to come here for sightseeing, leisure, tourism and investment. Located on one side of the "science and technology axis", the "100 meter science and technology Gallery" is composed of single steel plate, which is bright and light. The theme composition is in the shape of "flying" in reverse arc, reflecting the theme of "development and progress" of science and technology. The 9.8-meter-high stainless steel sculpture "Voyage" shows that the people of Hefei in the new century have the confidence and ability to create a beautiful new Hefei, ride the wind and waves, and sail for a bright future. The S-shaped awning board of the science and technology Gallery echoes with the S-shaped "natural axis" of the square, which makes it elegant and smooth, and increases the affinity with visitors.

At the intersection of "culture axis" and "science and technology axis", a large-scale music fountain is arranged. In the fountain, the map pattern of Hefei urban area is formed by ground mosaic, which can be described as unique. The diameter of the large-scale music fountain is 35 meters, and the maximum height of water spraying can reach about 26.5 meters. Whenever the music starts, with the change of melody, the spring will dance high and low, which will add a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere to the square. The height of the flag pole is 21 meters, which symbolizes that we have entered the 21st century.

Turn right to the "natural axis" of the square. The S-shaped "natural axis" is the leisure corridor of the square, which better embodies the modern concept of nature-based and people-oriented. The green landscape of the whole square strives to be complete and unified, highlighting the simple and bright features of modern city square landscape. The planning layout is based on complete and open lawn, interspersed with smooth and coherent flower belt, trees, shrubs, lawn layer by layer transition, high and low scattered. Magnolia grandiflora, Ginkgo biloba, Osmanthus fragrans and pomegranate were selected as tree species. In particular, some tall trees are arranged along the periphery of the building to block the sight and weaken the uncoordinated relationship between the large buildings and the square. At night, from both sides of the "natural axis", the whole square is decorated with pillar lights and lawn lights, and the grass is full of fragrance.

Through the stone path paved by granite, you come to the cultural corridor. The cultural corridor is located at the south end of the "cultural axis" of the square. The times have their ups and downs, and the culture has its inheritance. "Cultural axis", as the opposite axis of the municipal government office building, arranges a series of historical and cultural sketches with distinctive characteristics, and strives to show that the development of modern Chinese civilization can never be separated from 5000 years of splendid ancient Chinese culture. Among them, "Mingyan corridor" is the most distinctive. It is a double glass wall supported by granite columns, giving people a light, transparent and modern feeling. The most representative is the "source of China" complex. It is composed of three parts: the wall relief "source" and "pulse", the bronze relief "Chinese mirror" (Qinglong Baihu Zhuque Xuanwu) and the ground seal cutting "Baijiaxing". It not only embodies the spirit of traditional culture, but also has modern artistic taste. "Source" and "pulse" are two symmetrical reliefs, which are made of bronze and stainless steel, and are based on the seal script "Hundred Surnames". The combination of glass and bronze makes the work more distinctive. The ground relief and characters allow people to find their surname and zodiac here. The bronze relief of "Chinese mirror" vividly reflects the cultural characteristics of Han Dynasty. Interpretation of this scene, people will unconsciously blend into the square culture.

The roads around the city square are in the form of circular turntable. The four roads around the square are all one-way traffic lanes. Vehicles run around the periphery of the square. People flow to the surrounding business district and Garden Street through the underground passage. Pedestrians and cars go their own way. There is also a 14500 square meter underground garage under the square, which can park 360 vehicles, effectively relieving the traffic pressure.

Hefei New City Square

Located on the central axis of the new administrative and Cultural District, the new municipal plaza faces the shimmering Swan Lake and backs the magnificent municipal building. On the left (East) is the Swan Lake Hotel built according to the five-star standard, which has been put into trial operation; on the right (West) is the Hefei Grand Theater under construction. The second ring road passes underneath. It has beautiful scenery, evergreen all the year round, fresh air and broad vision. Compared with the bustle of the old city square and the suffocation of high-rise buildings, it is more elegant and quiet. When I stepped into the flat and tidy square and looked around, I saw the vast Swan Lake. The stadium in the distance was like a roc flying in the blue sky. In the square, there are many old people and children flying kites leisurely; walking along the winding path, I saw a couple sitting on the stone bench whispering. The shadow of the trees provides them with privacy.
