Yunnan Provincial Museum is a provincial comprehensive museum in China. It was founded in August 1951 with an exhibition area of 2400 square meters. The museum is rich in cultural relics, including more than 200000 pieces of bronzes, ancient coins, ceramics, ancient calligraphy and paintings, steles, stamps and various handicrafts. It is the museum with the largest collection of cultural relics in Yunnan Province. Most of the cultural relics are mainly archaeological excavations, including the bronze case of niuhu in the Warring States period, the bronze shell storage of the four cattle gilded knight in the Western Han Dynasty, the picture of visiting friends in Xishan by Guo Xi in the Northern Song Dynasty, and Dali The statue of Avalokitesvara in jin'achaoye and the golden winged bird in Dali are rare treasures. The exhibition hall of Yunnan Provincial Museum is divided into three floors. The permanent exhibitions include: Yunnan bronzes, the country of Buddha light, intangible cultural heritage, Pu'er tea, etc. In addition, there are exhibition halls for jewelry and jade, metal technology and carving technology.
The site of the museum is an old one. The new one has been moved to No. 6393 Guangfu Road, Kunming (near Guandu ancient town), so most of the collections have also been moved to the new one.
