Xixinsuo, one of the scenic spots of Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, is 1460 meters above sea level. It was first built in the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty (about 1522-1566). It was a small nunnery at that time. It is said that it was a quiet place for xixinsuo in ancient times, and then it was built as a temple, so it was named xixinsuo. It was abandoned in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty. In the Qianlong period (about 1736 AD), monk Dehui rebuilt the temple, and the existing temple was built in the early Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. After the founding of new China, it was built in the early Qing Dynasty After maintenance, the Diba was expanded and repaired in 2000, and the siheyuan was restored. The hundred meter forest behind the temple was opened up as a place for reading and learning scriptures, with a new look.
According to Jiang Chao's records of Mount Emei, there is a poem "Ode to peace of mind" written by Xiong Guo, one of the eight gifted scholars of Jiajing, which records an elder saying: "the body looks like emptiness, and does not accept good and evil thoughts; it is a place of peace of mind, and it is the convenient power of Bodhisattva." This should be the evidence of the name of the temple.
In the hall of xixinsuo, there are Guanyin and pharmacist Buddha. The temple is on the Bank of the rock and looks down like hanging in the air. Therefore, the ancients once said, "xixinsuo, the high Pavilion is dangerously hanging, like in the nine days, like facing the nine abysses. The heart of the people is at this point, holding only the half verse, and all the fate is dead." The couplet on the door makes the meaning of "peace of mind" more clear: "everything is silent, the heart is at rest, and the whole body is not my thing It means that in this silent space where all sounds do not exist, the heart naturally calms down and feels that it is also a kind of selfless realm of all things.
There are many relics around the temple, such as big and small eling, shibeigang, xiannvqiao, and so on. There is a stele at the shibeigang, which is engraved with "the revised panlu record of Mount Emei" written by Fu guangzhai in Ming Dynasty, which is an important historical material for investigating the ancient incense Road of Mount Emei;
In addition, on the left side of Xixin slope, there is a stele erected on October 15, 1889. It is engraved with the inscription "commanding the commander of Sichuan Mabian garrison, duyong, matulu wanjunmen, building the road to Mount Emei." The stele records the situation that the officers of Mabian garrison paid money to build the Xixin ramp, which shows that the local rulers of the past dynasties supported the Buddhism in Mount Emei.
From the Wannian Temple of Emei Mountain to xixinsuo, it is about 5 kilometers up the Guanxin slope. It is covered with clouds and dense trees. Although it is a small nunnery, it is the only way to the ancient road of Emei Mountain. The high Pavilion is dangerously high and the terrain is dangerous. On the Guanxin slope, there is a 40 meter high rock mulberry with a diameter at breast height of about 1 meter. According to the investigation of botanists, the tree is 1000 years old. Today, it is still full of branches and leaves, full of shade, and full of vitality - such a tall and ancient rock mulberry is the only one in Mount Emei, which is also very rare in the whole country.
