Suzhou Canal Park is located in the north of Shishan bridge, Sanxiang Road, Gusu District, Suzhou City, and on the East Bank of Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal. It was started in June 1987

Main layout

The park covers an area of about 3.5 hectares to the south of huoluobang. The South Gate of the park is opened. At the entrance is a 100 meter long Central Avenue. Tall ginkgo trees are planted on both sides. Deep in the avenue is a large area of color block flower beds, which are made up of many kinds of plants, such as juniper, Ligustrum lucidum and safflower. In the south section, plants are mainly used for landscaping, supplemented by a large area of green space, providing tourists with entertainment activities such as playing, leisure, flying kites and so on.

It is located between huoluobang and zhuxiangbang, covering an area of about 9 hectares. There are more land and water in this area. It is a relatively concentrated area with many recreational activities in the park. There are mini golf courses and clubs, multi-functional teahouses, cruise ship docks, childlike innocence Park, health park, children's activity room and pigeon square. These colorful recreational activities are hidden in the green trees It not only enriches the content of youth entertainment activities, but also increases the social and economic benefits of the park. In terms of plant configuration, irregular forest and large lawn constitute a pleasant natural landscape.

To the north of zhuxiangbang, the area is about 4.5 hectares. The terrain is relatively flat. Visitors can enter the park from the north gate. There are many woods and large grasslands. The canal park has a total area of 170000 square meters, including 25000 square meters of water area, accounting for 14.7% of the total area, and 145000 square meters of land area.

Amusement project construction

At the beginning of 1993, the mini golf course invested nearly 3 million yuan by Suzhou landscape management bureau covers an area of about 15 mu, 120 meters long from north to South and 90 meters wide from east to west. The green area of the park is about 110000 square meters, accounting for 66% of the total area of the park and 77% of the land area. The annual investment in green planting and maintenance is more than 200000 yuan. The plant configuration of the park mainly adopts the principle of "learning from nature", generally enjoying its natural posture without artificial pruning. The south section of the park is dominated by large lawns, which makes people feel empty. The middle and North sections are dominated by tall trees, so as to form the beauty of green trees. The main tree species in the park are "local" tree species, mainly including camphor, willow, Osmanthus fragrans, Magnolia, Begonia, red leaf plum, ginkgo, cixiaozhu and more than 100 varieties, with a number of more than 20000.
