Mingzhen view
Mingzhen temple is located at 141 Zhenhua Road, Licang District, Qingdao City, about 15 kilometers away from the center of Qingdao city. It is accessible from Jiaozhou Bay expressway, national highway 308 and Chongqing road. Mingzhen temple, commonly known as Cangkou temple, is compatible with Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.
It was first built in 1925. The original site is located in xiaoweng village. It was demolished when the Japanese army expanded the airport in 1943. In the same year, it began to be rebuilt at the current site. During the cultural revolution, the Ming Zhen temple was seriously damaged, the statues were destroyed, and the Taoists were expelled. Emergency repair and protection began in 2003, and was completed in December 2004. The restored Ming Zhen temple covers an area of 4600 square meters, which is divided into three main halls, namely the gate hall, the front hall and the back hall. The main hall of the front hall is the lingmu hall, which is dedicated to Lingshan mother, eyesight mother and moonlight mother. The East and west side halls are Songsheng hall and Chunyang hall, which are dedicated to Songsheng mother, luzu and Guangong. The main hall of the back hall is the Jade Emperor hall, which is dedicated to the Jade Emperor and the four heavenly kings. The side hall is the three religions hall, which is dedicated to Sakyamuni, Confucius and Laozi.
"Cangkou Temple", also known as Mingzhen temple, was built in 1925. It was originally located on the west side of today's Cangkou airport. In 1943, when Japan occupied Qingdao for the second time, Cangkou airport was built. Cangkou temple was forced to be demolished. At the same time, Changshou Temple beside it was demolished. In 1944, it was rebuilt on the original site of xiaoweng village in Licang District by the public. At the time of building the temple, a monument of merit and virtue was erected. The raw materials were jade from Jiaxiang. The front is engraved with "eternal fragrance", recording the reasons for the construction of the monument. On the back are the words "charity" and the names of the people who paid to build the temple. About a thousand people donated money to build the temple. In 1958, Kuang Changxiu, the Taoist priest of Taiqing palace in Laoshan Mountain, once presided over it. There were four or five Taoists living here. In 1964, it was changed into Cangkou children's palace. During the cultural revolution, the temple was destroyed, the hall was closed, the statues were smashed, and the Taoists were sent back to their places of origin. In 2003, Licang District invested more than 5 million yuan to repair Mingzhen temple. The main temple is divided into three levels: the front, the back and the middle. As soon as you enter the gate, you can see the two generals of hem ha guarding on both sides of the passage (now entering from the main gate, the second generals of hem HA are changed to Wei Tuo and Wang Lingguan). Further inside, you will enter the main courtyard. There are two white fruit trees in the courtyard. Now there is only one. The main hall is dedicated to the Jade Emperor, the rear hall is dedicated to the queen mother and Guanyin, standing on the golden boy and jade girl, as well as the statues of eight immortals and Tathagata. Of course, the positions of grandfather Geda and brother Sasa are indispensable. The wing room is the bedroom of the Taoist. The Taoist in the temple can see a doctor very well, which undoubtedly brought great gospel to the common people in the old society. In the 1930s and 1940s, Cangkou temple was famous far and near. During the temple fair, the main road in Cangkou was busy with traffic and people. There were a lot of people in front of the temple. I believe that this reopening of the concept is bound to create a sensation in the whole city
