History of the main school
Hunan Forestry University
Hunan Provincial Agricultural College was founded in 1941.
In 1947, Keqiang college was established by the merger of the provincial agricultural, industrial and commercial schools.
In 1950, Keqiang college merged with relevant schools to establish provincial xiuye agricultural college.
In 1951, the Agricultural College of Hunan University and the provincial xiuye Agricultural College merged to establish Hunan Agricultural College.
Hunan Forestry College was established in July 1958. It is located in lanmuchong, outside the South Gate of Changsha. It is the former site of Changsha Forestry School of the Ministry of forestry

Department of forestry, South China Agricultural University
In the autumn of 1917, Guangdong public agricultural school was established.
In 1924, Guangdong Public Agricultural School merged with other schools to establish Guangdong University.
In 1926, Guangdong University was renamed as Sun Yat sen University, and the Department of forestry of agricultural college was established.
After the adjustment of departments in 1952, South China Forestry College was established.
In 1958, the former Department of forestry of South China Agricultural College was set up, and Guangdong forestry college was set up in huangpodong, the northern suburb of Guangzhou.
In 1962, Guangdong Forestry College returned to South China Agricultural College and became the Department of forestry

Merging schools
One of the predecessor of Central South University of forestry science and technology is Hunan Forestry College, which was established in 1958. Its history can be traced back to Keqiang college, which was established in 1947. Another predecessor of the school is the Forestry Department of South China Agricultural University. Its history can be traced back to the Guangdong public agricultural school established in 1917.
In 1963, under the direct care of Tao Zhu, former Vice Premier of the State Council and then first Secretary of the Central South Bureau of the Communist Party of China, Hunan Forestry University moved to Guangzhou and merged with the Forestry Department of South China Agricultural University to establish the Central South Forestry University, which was directly under the management of the Ministry of forestry. Comrade Tao Zhu personally chose the school site for the school, personally sketched the blueprint of Zhongnan Forestry College, and personally inscribed the name of Zhongnan Forestry College.
In October 1970, Zhongnan Forestry College and South China Agricultural College (now South China Agricultural University) merged to establish Guangdong agriculture and Forestry College

In 1974, the school moved from Guangzhou to Xupu County, Hunan Province, and changed its name to Hunan Forestry University.
In 1978, the name of Zhongnan Forestry College was restored. In 1980, the new site of Zhuzhou was broken. Since 1981, the school has moved to Zhuzhou.
In November 2000, with the approval of Hunan Provincial People's government, the former Hunan forestry school and Hunan forestry technical school were merged into Zhongnan Forestry College, and the main campus of the school was moved to the former Hunan Forestry College in Changsha.
In June 2003, the provincial government approved the incorporation of Hunan Agricultural Machinery Research Institute into Zhongnan Forestry University.
In December 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, the University officially changed its name to Central South University of forestry science and technology.
In April 2006, HUNAN ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT CADRE COLLEGE merged with Central South University of forestry science and technology.
In 2010, it was selected as the national "characteristic key discipline project" construction university.
At the end of 2011, he was selected into the public postgraduate program of national construction high level university.

In December 2013, Bangor College of Central South University of forestry science and technology, the first Sino foreign cooperative school in Hunan Province jointly organized by the University and Bangor University, was officially approved by the Ministry of education.
In January 2014, the university took over the state-owned Lutou forest farm of Pingjiang County as a whole, and changed its name to Lutou Experimental Forest Farm of Central South University of forestry science and technology as the teaching, scientific research and practice base of the University.
In January 2016, the University held an interim meeting of the staff congress in the lecture hall of the library, and voted and passed the proposal of "paid allocation of the old campus of Changsha business and Tourism Vocational and technical college to Central South University of forestry and technology". In December, Central South University of forestry science and technology and Changsha business and Tourism Vocational and technical college signed the old campus allocation compensation agreement, and the old campus of Changsha business and Tourism Vocational and technical college was officially allocated to Central South University of forestry science and technology.

In February 1906, Hunan Jiake agricultural school was established.

In 1947, it was renamed the Provincial Agricultural School of Tianjin.
In August 1950, it was renamed Hunan Provincial Agricultural College.
In April 1953, the Preparatory Committee of Changsha forestry school was formally established.
In February 1954, Hunan forestry school was founded.
In January 1959, Hunan Forestry College was established.
In September 1961, the provincial forest industry school and the provincial forestry machinery chemistry school moved to Liyujiang, merged with the forestry school and renamed Hunan forestry school.
In 1964, Hunan Forestry University moved to Guangzhou and merged with the Forestry Department of South China Agricultural University to establish Zhongnan Forestry University. The provincial people's Government approved Hunan Forestry University to move back to Changsha.
In April 1988, the provincial forestry technical school moved into the forestry school.
On November 7, 2000, the general office of Hunan Provincial People's Government approved that Hunan forestry technical school and Hunan forestry school were merged into Zhongnan Forestry University

Hunan forestry technical school
Founded in 1979, the school is located in Zoushi Town, Taoyuan County, Changde City.
In 1983, he moved to Huangtuling, Changsha.
In April 1988, the provincial forestry technical school moved into the forestry school.

Hunan Agricultural Machinery Research Institute was established on June 2, 1958;
In May 1962, the Provincial Institute of machinery moved from the original site of shushuling in Changsha to the Provincial Institute of agricultural machinery. In October 1970, the Institute moved from the Provincial Institute of agricultural machinery to the new site;
In December 1965, the provincial agricultural machinery testing and appraisal station was relocated from Mapoling, Changsha City to the Provincial Agricultural Machinery Institute. In May 1974, the provincial agricultural machinery testing and appraisal station was restored and rebuilt. In December 1978, the provincial agricultural machinery testing and appraisal station was relocated from the Provincial Agricultural Machinery Institute to the new station;
In 1971, the provincial agricultural mechanization school moved from Mapoling, Changsha City to the Provincial Agricultural Machinery Institute. In August 1973, the school was moved back to the original site of Mapoling;
On June 11, 2003, Hunan Provincial People's government decided to merge Hunan Agricultural Machinery Research Institute into Zhongnan Forestry University

HUNAN ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT CADRE COLLEGE
On June 9, 1982, the people's Government of Hunan Province approved the establishment of Hunan Economic Cadre Training Institute, formerly known as Hunan Industrial and diplomatic cadre school. In early August, the provincial Economic Commission and Yueyang Municipal People's government reached an agreement, and the Institute was officially set up in rongjiawan.
On August 28, 1983, the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to change the name of Hunan Economic and Management Cadre College to Hunan Economic and Management Cadre College, and moved the site to Changsha; finally, it was located in lannichong area, Yuannan District, Changsha City.
In January 1985, the college officially opened in Changsha.
In July 2003, with the approval of the provincial people's government, Hunan Vocational College of economics and management was officially included in the sequence of general higher education.
On April 21, 2006, the provincial government office meeting decided that Hunan Economic Management Cadre College and Central South University of forestry science and technology will establish a new Central South University of forestry science and technology
