Xiaohu

Xiao lake is located in the southeast corner of Hexia ancient town, Huai'an District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, beside the Li canal. Together with Shaohu lake and Yuehu Lake, it is called "three lakes on the Huaihe River".

Xiaohu is divided into South and North districts. There is Lianhua street in the middle. The stone slab of Lianhua is thousands of meters long, like a rainbow. It spans three bridges in the middle, under which boats can pass. To the East is Tongcheng bridge, to the west is Tonghui bridge, and to the west is Guangji Bridge (Tongji Bridge). Han Xin memorial building group, one of the great militarists and one of the three heroes of the Han Dynasty, is mainly a private garden group of salt merchants in the North District.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xiaohu was the most beautiful private garden group in the Jianghuai River Basin. Fang Bao, Shen Deqian and Wu Jingzi, as well as Zheng Banqiao, Jinnong and Bian Shoumin of the eight monsters in Yangzhou, often go to the garden to chant the wind and moon, splash ink and express their aspirations, and talk and laugh. Zhao Yi, a poet of Qing Dynasty, described the beautiful scenery of Xiaohu Lake as "the village is still near Guo, there is water but no mountain". Yuan Mei, a poet of Xingling school, also praised the elegant scenery of Xiaohu Lake as "famous flowers and beauties sometimes come, but the moon and breeze never escape".

In the Han Dynasty, there are Hanxin and Meicheng, and in the Tang Dynasty, there are Zhaogu, which can be said to be a good place for outstanding people. In Xiaohu, the most profound historical accumulation should be said to be the diaotai of Han Hou and the ancestral temple of floating mother in the memorial complex of Han Xin. In historical records, Sima Qian recorded that Han Xin, the great general, was down and nobody knew him. Only his charitable floating mother helped him with food. It is the beautiful feelings of the floating mother and the non utilitarian good deeds that have brewed the most moving wine in the long history and made the future generations taste and revel in it. In order to commemorate Han Xin, the most heroic general, and his mother, the people of his hometown built the Diaoyutai and the ancestral temple of Han Hou in Xiaohu lake to express the respect and memory of Han Xin and his mother.

In the past, there was a "Han Hou diaotai standing tall" beside the canal embankment on the West Bank of Xiaohu lake. In the south of the platform, there was a royal poetry Pavilion, in the north of the platform, there was a Piaomu Temple (see Hanxin Memorial jungle for details), and there was a Jianjia Pavilion beside the temple. In the northwest of the lake, there was "near ancient Meili, a place with dense residents", and in the lake, there was "stone embankment for pedestrians", commonly known as Lianhua street. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, famous gardens around Xiaohu Lake were built, and there were few empty days for sightseeing. For example, huitai garden in xiayue Lake in Ming Dynasty, Qujiang garden under the river by Zhang Xinbiao and Zhang Honglie in Qing Dynasty (see Qujiang garden under the river for details), Zhiyuan garden in huanglanyan, Wangan garden in Chengchun River, huozhuang garden in chengjingzhai, dailiu garden in wuyitang, etc. There are hundreds of acres of paddy fields in the lake, which are covered with wild rice and cattail. The scenery is beautiful. Fishing boats come and go, competing with crows and ducks. The evening breeze and flute rhyme of Xiaoba teahouse, the sunset bell of Puguang Buddhist temple, the string song of pleasure boats, and the remote harmony. Throughout the year, the scenery is picturesque, "either when the summer rain comes, or when the cold snow is clear, or when the spring breeze is willow green, or when the autumn water is green, the vast islets and misty waves" make people relaxed and happy. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many literati came here to visit, leaving many poems describing the beautiful scenery of Xiaohu lake. The following are copied: Du shouchang (Xiangcao, Shunzhi zhongbuyi) boating on the East Lake: clear boat like a mirror, painting boat like a mirror, amber fragrance floating white jade cup. The gull draws away the spar to seek the victory, the mountain divides the eyebrow Dai to come across the city. Yunqing Temple changed to empty stone tablet, Ruzi Pavilion high alone pillow platform. Nostalgic love, silk tube urgent, green wave does not put wine people back. Night with friends in Xiaohu Lake by Shi dengdai: fine smoke scattered on xiaojiahu lake, it's better to have a cool autumn dusk. Green wine likes to see famous people's banquet, while green shirt sits idly in a boatman boat. The wheel of laurel is like a mirror, half of which is deficient, and the dew of jade is like a pearl. At this time, the night is really picturesque, and the water is far away from the white clouds. The second record of "boating in Xiaohu", written by Wu yuluo, a middle-aged Gongsheng of Qianlong and a teacher of Guan Fengyang, is: when the peach blossom water fills the lake, the Red Bridge twists and turns around zizanpu. The painting boat carries wine to see the spring rise, one fold can eliminate a hundred pots of wine. There are still Qujiang buildings left in the famous garden. I once heard predecessors talk about old worries. Today, liusi is even more haggard, unable to recall the youth tour. Wang Tingzhen (Yucan, Saian, Qianlong youbangyan, Shangshu of Guanli Department) Title Liuyi Garden: POTU nostalgia always depends on, blue water along the door, Liuying alum. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the landscape around Xiaohu lake, like Shaohu lake and Yuehu Lake, gradually declined due to the change of salt ticket, the construction of railway and the rise of sea transportation. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the people's Government of Huai'an City appropriated funds to restore some places of interest around Xiaohu lake.
