Human history
The police shoulder the responsibility of social stability and people's safety, and often have to face bandits and outlaws. Therefore, they must learn self-defense skills in order to protect themselves and the people. Therefore, Wushu is particularly important and necessary for the police to maintain public order. Therefore, in 1895 (Meiji 28) in Kyoto, Japan, the "Greater Japan Takeshi Association" was founded. Its members were mainly policemen. The Takeshi hall built by it was called "Takeshi hall". When Japan ruled Taiwan, the Japanese police system affected Taiwan. Therefore, Taiwan's martial arts culture was introduced, led and developed by the Japanese police at that time. With the promotion of the police system, Taiwan's prefectures, departments and counties built "martial arts hall" one after another. In 1924 (the 13th year of Taisho), the Wude hall in Kaohsiung was completed in sidingmu, Kaohsiung, which was managed and used by the Kaohsiung police department. It is a Japanese brick building behind the Gushan elementary school, No. 36, mountaineering street, today's Gushan District, and on the left side of xiziwan cave, Sun Yat sen University. Japan has built martial arts halls all over Taiwan to provide civil servants, police and students as training places. Boys must learn judo, Kendo or wrestling (Xiangpu), while girls mainly shoot arrows. In order to carry forward the martial arts spirit of Bushido, a martial arts conference or a martial arts performance conference is held every year in Taiwan to select the winners and then concentrate on the finals of the local martial arts ethics Association in Taiwan. The interior of the building is mainly divided into two parts: the Kendo learning area in the East and the judo learning area in the west, which can accommodate about 100 people. It was under the jurisdiction of the then police department (yongguangxing at the intersection of Linhai Second Road and Linhai first road). After the National Government took over Taiwan, it was managed by Gushan Guomin school. It once served as a dormitory for teaching staff, but no one entered it State. In 1999, Gaoshi Civil Affairs Bureau approved it as a historic site. After the establishment of the Cultural Bureau in 2003, it actively carried out renovation planning and design. After one year of restoration, it was completed in December 2004. In April 2005, it entrusted the corporate body, Kaohsiung Kendo Culture Promotion Association, to operate and manage. It is the first non-profit historic site in the city and the first historic site in Taiwan to be reused with its original function.
Famous scenic spot

Under the eaves, there are symmetrical columns, with three columns in a group in the front and one column and two wall columns in the back, which are similar to the "Tuscan column" There are arrow shaped and target shaped reliefs on the cylinder, which also metaphors the original traditional martial arts activities of Wude hall.
building material
The wall of Wude hall is made of brick. The middle section of the facade is made of fair faced brick. The upper and lower sections are made of concrete and washed stones. The roof is paved with high-pressure "cement tiles". There are "ghost tiles" at the ends of the vertical ridge and the middle ridge. Under the roof, there is a "Juezi" (called "Juezi" in China) parallel to the direction of the roof. The section is rectangular. Under the "Juezi", there is a "strip" of wood perpendicular to the direction of the roof.
