legend
Shijing temple was not a temple at first. It was a hunting villa for officials. It was built in the late Eastern Han Dynasty (189-214 A.D.). It was built by Liu Yan, a descendant of Liu Yu, the fifth son of emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty, who was a herdsman in Yizhou. During the Shu and Han Dynasties, Zhao Yun inherited the property and guarded Longquan Mountain, the east gate of Chengdu. After the fall of the Shu Han Dynasty, the villa was rebuilt into a temple by the local people, named Lingyin Temple. By the Tang Dynasty, temples were built on the mountain and began to take shape. During the Zhengtong period of the Ming Dynasty (1436-1449), master Chushan, a famous monk from Hubei Province, was invited by the king of Shu to stay in xilingyin temple, where he added gold to the temple's appearance, making the main hall and other buildings resplendent, and renamed Tiancheng temple. Tiancheng temple was renamed Shijing temple, which was related to a Vajra Sutra in the Qing Dynasty.
It is said that in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, song siren, a senior official in the capital, was framed by treacherous officials and demoted to Jianzhou (now Jianyang) as a state herdsman. In a fit of anger, song siren was bedridden. One day, he dreamt that black and white, impermanence two ghosts hook him down to hell and walk to Jianzhou North Gate Bridge. A kind-hearted monk stops him. The monk asked, "isn't it a pity to die like this?" Song replied, "the upper class can't serve the country, and the lower class can't be filial to their parents. Is it safe to die? " The monk danced the dust in his hand. Song siren was fanned into the air and went down. He exclaimed: "help! Help The monk said with a smile: "it seems that the world still has your unfinished fate!" With that, the monk disappeared. When song siren woke up, his illness gradually improved, and he began to do some good things in the treatment. At the same time, he also offended some local dignitaries. One day, he was recognized by the villain, who was ready to give him a poisonous hand. At this time, the monk in the dream came to him again, threw the dust and knocked down the evil migration, saving song siren's life again. In order to repay the monk for saving his life, song siren searched for many times and never saw the monk. Later, he visited Jianzhou temple and finally saw master Chushan in Tiancheng temple. It turned out that it was Bodhisattva, the founder of Tiancheng temple, who saved him twice. In order to be grateful, song siren spent a lot of money to renovate the temple. After completion, he carved another stone "Vajra Sutra" with a total of 32 pieces, sent them to the temple, and wrote "white moon and clear wind" on the top of zushi cave. From then on, it was called chengshijing temple.
