Yang Shanji Memorial Pavilion
Yang Shanji Memorial Pavilion and former residence were built in 1958, located in Fuhai Road, Jiaji Town, Qionghai. Yang Shanji, an early revolutionary activist of our party, was the main founder of QiongYa party organization and armed struggle. On September 23, 1927, he died in the battle of yezizhai, which led the general armed riot in quanqiong. He was only 27 years old.

Yang Shanji (1900-1927) has a long history. He was born in Beitiao village, Futian, Qionghai City, Hainan Province on February 4, 1900. In 1916, he studied in QiongYa middle school and participated in the student movement. In 1919, he graduated and returned to his hometown as a primary school teacher. In the autumn of 1921, he was admitted to Guangdong highway engineering school. He joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League in December 1923. He once participated in the establishment of QiongYa revolutionary comrades Association and other progressive youth groups, and published new QiongYa review and other publications. In 1924, he was sent to the Soviet Union and studied in the Chinese class of Moscow Oriental University and Red Army school. He became a member of the Communist Party of China in December of the same year. He returned to China in August 1925, served as the director and executive member of the Publicity Department of the Guangdong and Guangxi District Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Secretary and director of the Publicity Department of the Guangzhou District Committee since September, and served as the Secretary of the Guangdong District Committee of the Communist Youth League in December. He mobilized the youth to support the National Revolutionary Army in the eastern and southern expeditions, developed the organization of the Communist Youth League, trained the cadres of the Communist Youth League, and launched the youth movement. After the failure of the great revolution in 1927, he was sent back to Hainan.
In June, he presided over an emergency meeting of the QiongYa prefectural committee of the Communist Party of China, conveyed the instructions of the Guangdong District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and decided to change the prefectural committee into a special committee to establish the Military Commission and the headquarters of the workers' and peasants' rebellion Army. He served as secretary of the QiongYa special committee of the Communist Party of China, chairman of the Military Commission and representative of the workers' and peasants' rebellion army. They organized revolutionary armed forces, led the peasant army to attack the police stations and militia in Boao port and other places, and counterattacked the suppression of Kuomintang reactionaries, which promoted the development of QiongYa revolutionary armed struggle. In September of the same year, he, Wang Wenming and Feng Pingping organized and led an armed uprising in QiongYa. On the 23rd, he died in the battle of Yuehui coconut Village (now belonging to Qionghai).
