Haigeng Park

Haigeng Park, built in the early 1960s, is located in the southern suburb of Kunming, a "Spring City" with "four seasons like spring" in Yunnan Province, and on the Bank of Dianchi Lake, a "Plateau Pearl", about 10 kilometers away from the center of Kunming. It is about 2.5 kilometers long from east to west and 200 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 750 mu.

Development history

After the establishment of Kunming Dianchi Lake National Tourist Resort in 1992, with the concern and attention of the Management Committee of the resort, a new park integrating tourism, leisure, entertainment and vacation, carrying forward the historical culture and cultural landscape of Dianchi Lake is taking on a new look on the red earth plateau and the shore of Dianchi Lake.

The natural Haigeng park is a good place for people's leisure and vacation. Dianchi Lake

The park is connected to the vast Dianchi Lake in the South with a 2.5 km long coastline; the cableway connecting Haigeng park to Xishan Longmen in the West with only one water; the golf course and national sports training base in the East; the garden hotel and Yunnan Ethnic Village in the north.

Sea ridge

Haigeng is 8 kilometers away from the urban area. As the name suggests, "Haigeng" is the ridge across the sea. It was originally a wedge-shaped dike inserted in the Dianchi Lake from east to west. Starting from Haigeng village in the East and ending at the foot of Xishan Mountain in the west, it is 5 kilometers long and 60 to 300 meters wide. It divides more than 300 square kilometers of Dianchi Lake into two parts. To the south of the ridge is the vast Dianchi Lake, and to the north of the ridge is "Caohai".

The whole ridge naturally forms four scenic spots: the national sports winter training base in the East; the beach bathing place in the middle, with gentle slope and soft beach. To the west is the park area, where you can sit and watch the water scenery and the west mountain scenery, or hang fishing. In the north, the marsh is a convalescent area and a tourist center. There are goldfish lake, Baihua garden, large-scale ethnic village and several homes forest style resort.

Haigeng, originally a long dike inserted into the Dianchi Lake from east to west, starts from jinjiahe River in the East, slowly extends to the West and ends in the Dianchi Lake about a mile away from the foot of Xishan. Geshui, together with Xishan, Daguanlou and other scenic spots, has become an integrated tourist area. The length of the dike is about four and a half kilometers, and its width ranges from forty to fifty meters to two to three hundred meters.

Legend of Dianchi Lake

It is said that long ago, Kunming was a dry land. A handsome Hunter bid farewell to his newly married wife and went to the East China Sea to look for water.
