Tang stele in Shanglin Zhuang inhabited area is the oldest stele of Zhuang nationality found. Tang stele Tang city has high academic value for the study of the social situation of Zhuang Nationality in Shanglin area and even in the lower reaches of Hongshui River in Guangxi at that time, as well as the history, economic life, Chinese character attainments, social consciousness and social spear shield of Zhuang Nationality in the lower reaches of Hongshui River in Sui and Tang Dynasties.

Zhicheng was founded in the seclusion of Wei Jue, the governor of Chengzhou in Tang Dynasty. According to the local conditions, the city takes the steep limestone mountain as the city constant, constructs the city house in the valley, and uses the mountain valley to divide into the inner city and the outer city. There is a pond outside the city and is connected with the Qingshui River, which has a unique structure and is extremely rare. The inner city covers an area of 10 mu, and the outer city covers an area of 77 mu, with a total area of 94 mu. In addition, the pond area outside the city is 150 mu. After the completion of the city, in the second year of Wansui Tongtian (697), a 24 line and 1126 character poem "Wei Jingbian Zhicheng" was engraved on the inner cliff of the east end of the outer wall.
About 300 meters southeast of Zhicheng is the site of "Zhicheng Temple". After the temple was destroyed, a "Ai Chang primary school" was built at the original site. At present, there are still some stone components, such as censers, plinths and arches of the temple in the 40th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, woodcarving patterns, and relics of the gate, plinths and stone drums of the Qing Dynasty, as well as the remains of the stage. Nearby, there are embankments and bridges made of stone components of temples, among which there are remains of stone carvings of Taoism.
It is understood that the Zhicheng site and cliff stone inscriptions are the remains of the canal head of jimizhou County in the Tang Dynasty, including two groups. The first group includes the Zhicheng site, cliff stone inscriptions "weijingbian Zhicheng stele" and the site of Zhicheng temple; the second group includes cliff stone inscriptions "Liuhe strong Mansion ode" stele and the site of shengshu temple. Weijingbian Zhicheng stele and Liuhe jianjiangdazhaosong steles are both cliff inscriptions, which are worthy of the name of "the first and second Tang steles in Lingnan". In 1963, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced that they were the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Guangxi. Zhicheng site was also announced as the fourth batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangxi by the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 1994. In 2006, it was listed as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The Zhicheng sites in Shanglin are all located on the North Bank of Qingshui River in the county. There are mainly Tang steles, which are two ancient steles: "Ode to Liuhe solid mansion" (abbreviated as "Ode to Dazhai") and "Zhicheng stele of liaozhou governor Wei Jingbian" (abbreviated as "Zhicheng stele"). "Ode to Liuhe strong mansion" is located in a cave at the foot of peimiao mountain in Yangdu village, Chengtai Township, Shanglin county.
The tablet was carved in the first year of Yongchun (682 AD) of Emperor Gaozong of Tang Dynasty. The author is Wei Jingbian, the ancestor of Zhuang nationality. The stele is 95cm high and 64cm wide. The inscription is regular script with 386 characters in 17 lines. It consists of three parts: preface, ode and poem. Weijing Zhicheng stele of liaozhou governor is located at the foot of Zhicheng hill behind shijiantun, Aichang village, qinpai Township, Shanglin county. It is carved in 697, the second year of long live Tongtian of Empress Wu Zetian. The stele is 164 cm high and 79 cm wide. The inscriptions are regular script with 24 lines of 1115 characters, which are composed of "preface" and "a piece of stele" (stele is a style). Six variant Chinese characters created in the era of Wu Zetian are inscribed in the inscription.
Tang city is the ancient city of Tang Dynasty, which coexists with the stele of Wei Jing, the governor of liaozhou.
