Woniu lake, approved by Heilongjiang provincial government as a provincial scenic spot in 1994, is the northernmost scenic spot in China and a good place for holiday outings of Heihe people.

In 1999, as one of the sub venues of the second China Heilongjiang international skiing Festival, the woniu Lake scenic spot developed nearly ten ice and snow tourism projects, such as primary skiing, ice sculpture, snow sculpture, winter swimming, cold water fishing, etc. in order to give full play to the geographical and resource advantages and make full use of the ice and snow resources in the scenic spot, the woniu Lake snow resort is planned to open up alpine skiing and ice skating The ski resort will be built into a hot spot of winter tourism in Heihe River and even the Russian border, and gradually become an international ski tourism base.

In fact, the original name of woniu lake was woniu river. The original name of woniu River in the local area was Erni River, which is the Yinzhuan of Erni river. The reservoir management department also built a bronze ox statue at the foot of the mountain at the north end of the dam as a memorial. From spring to late autumn, it attracts countless tourists, such as boating, fishing, entertainment, picnics, swimming and mountain climbing. After the "one-day tour" of Heihe River and Russia's blagoveshinsk on the other side, tourists from foreign countries must go to woniu lake.
