The land God is accompanied by homeless vagrants and beggars all the year round.

Earth Temple
Tu Gu temple is also called Tu Di temple. "Tu" refers to the God of land, and Gu refers to the God of five valleys. There is also a Tugu temple in the south of taziqiao, which is located diagonally opposite to Changqing temple. There is a Cross Street Pavilion in front of the temple. There are many plaques on the colorful Cross Street Pavilion with flying eaves, one of which has the words of "Enpei Dongtao square, people's life, honor and stand". Shou Huaijian was Mr. Shou Jingwu, Lu Xun's teacher when he was studying in Sanwei bookstore. This pavilion has at least two plays a year, one lantern show in January and one Ping'an show in May. In addition, the workshop suffered from natural and man-made disasters, but also temporary acting, Lu Xun had been here to see the play when he was a child. There are three temples side by side here. The most northern is the Tugu temple, the middle is the Mu temple, and the south is the God of wealth hall. Generally speaking, the scale of the earth temple is relatively small, and the earth Valley Temple is only one room wide, because Lu Xun once described it more, which attracted people's attention.

In addition to the gate, there is also a wooden gate, painted ochre red. There is a wide overhanging eaves above the door, and a low stone threshold below.
The first entrance is the gate house. There is a pair of arms on the porch pillars: "good weather, abundant grain, peace and prosperity of the country and the people.". There is a patio in the middle and a gallery on both sides. The second entrance is the main hall. In the Ming Dynasty, there are two sitting statues of father-in-law of the land and mother-in-law of the land. They look kind and kind, just like the words "father-in-law is fair, mother-in-law is painstaking", which is deeply loved by the people. A large gold plaque on a red background is hung above the statue, which is inscribed with the four characters of "five blessings on the ground". It comes from the Wei Dynasty stele style calligraphy of Tao junxuan, a rural sage in Shaoxing. There is also a pair of arms on the gold pillar in front of the hall
Fortune comes from heaven with integrity, virtue comes from righteousness, and set must be fair. "It was written by Zhi Yong, a great calligrapher of Sui Dynasty.
On weekdays, Tugu temple is not as lively as Changqing temple. However, on the birthday of the earth Bodhisattva, that is, the 14th day of the fourth lunar month, people come to worship Buddha and burn incense. On the winter solstice, it's more lively to light candles. At the end of Guangxu period, Tugu temple was in charge of a Qiu temple. Because Tugu temple was relatively deserted, some homeless beggars and vagrants lived in the temple at that time, and the rulers did not interfere with them, so it became a place for them to live.
literary works
When talking about the Tugu temple, people will associate with Lu Xun's famous work the true story of Ah Q, saying that Ah Q lived in the Tugu temple. In fact, there was not ah q here, but Lu Xun just drew materials from it: there was a man named Xie Agui who lived in the Tugu Temple alone. He made a living mainly by pounding rice for others. He once worked as a part-time worker for the Zhou family, but he had a habit of stealing and had a bad reputation. Lu Xun was familiar with him and used him as a "model" to create the immortal artistic image of "Ah Q" in the true story of ah Q.
Tugu temple has been in ruins for many years, and the present facade was restored in 1981. In 2003, Shaoxing city implemented the protection project of Lu Xun's hometown, and the relevant departments funded the reconstruction of the original site of Tugu temple and restored the old view. When Chinese and foreign visitors come here to visit, they often recall the life scenes of Ah Q in Lu Xun's works. Lu Xun's wife Xu Guangping said that in the Tugu temple, they can "find ah q's place more cordially, as if they have acquaintances and are ready to come out.".
