Peifeng tower

Wulita, commonly known as wulita, is located in Houkeng village, Hongyang Town, Puning. It was built in 1742. The tower is 36 meters high, seven stories, octagonal in plane. It is a geomantic tower made of triad soil. There are peculiar inner turning stone steps in it. You can climb on each floor, and you can see from the window layer by layer. The eaves of the tower are made of red bricks. There is a caisson in the seventh floor. The top of the tower is composed of a big gourd and its upper three wheels of Yanglian, which supports a small cast iron gourd with a weight of more than 1000 Jin. Peifeng pagoda is ancient and elegant in shape, majestic and magnificent. It has been standing for more than 200 years, and is the "Peifeng pagoda" of "eight scenic spots in Puning".

The tower is 36 meters high and has seven stories. It is octagonal in plane and of brick soil mixed structure. The tower body is rammed with triad soil, which is rare in China. The side length of the tower base is 9.8 meters, and the height of the tower base is 1.65 meters. There are nine steps to the top of the tower. There are railings on the top and bottom of the tower base. A pair of stone geese and a pair of stone lions are carved on the railings. The shape is vivid. At the top of the tower, there is a big gourd and its upper three wheels of Yanglian, which supports a small cast iron gourd weighing more than 1000 Jin

The outer side of the first floor of the tower is 3.9 meters long, the elders around are 31.2 meters, and the tower is 31.7 meters tall. Each layer of the tower is hollow. The wall of the first layer is 2.55 meters thick, and each side is 1.5 meters long. The tower body is reduced to the highest layer by layer, and each side is only 0.71 meters long. There is only one entrance into the tower chamber at the tower base. Facing west, the gate is 1.3 meters wide and 2.77 meters high, with seven inscriptions on the vault and stone gate frame

High level, powerful and strong. There are 120 inner turn stone steps in the tower cavity, which can be ascended to each layer. There are four doors (Windows) on each floor above the first and second floors, and the four doors (Windows) on each adjacent floor are staggered, which is not only beautiful, but also can look out in all directions. The eaves of the tower are made of red bricks. There is a caisson inside the tower cavity of the seventh floor, and there is a corridor outside. There is a stone column in each corner of the corridor. The column is made of tile and triad, and the shape of the stone is elegant and beautiful. The Tasha is in the shape of iron casting wheel.

Peifeng tower is beautiful, steady, tall and majestic. It has been standing for more than 200 years. From the top of the tower, you can have a panoramic view of Hongyang Town, the ancient city of Puyi, in the south. You can have a panoramic view of the scenery from far and near. From the north, you can see the surging Rongjiang River, which is very spectacular.

The tower is now a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province.
