The stone carvings are precious inscriptions left by celebrities Li Yangbing, Li Ju and Pei Qiu in the Tang Dynasty when they were traveling in the first year of Yongtai (765 AD). It used to be a small island in the middle of the river. In the reign of Yongtai of Tang Dynasty (765), Pei Jian built a pavilion in this place. Li Yangbing named it Yiting, and wrote a preface in Xiaozhuan. Peiqiu wrote the inscription, Li Ju wrote the inscription and money in Li style, which were carved on the boulder together. Because it was often submerged by the river, there was less inheritance in the past dynasties. Now the Yiting pavilion has long been extinct, only stone carvings. In 1988, the State Council of the people's Republic of China announced it as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Yongtai yuan (year) Yisi year, summer May 11, Longxi Li Jukou straight up to the southwest "(above Li Ti) (see photo). This is the essence of China's ancient stone carving. The stone is well preserved, but it is under the river bank. In order to prevent the river from scouring, a waterproof stone wall was built around it for protection.
artistic value
Under the stone inscription, there is also the official script of the title of baweizu, a Jinshi family in Qing Dynasty: "she baweizu, who was boating here, visited the old relics, and got the title of yuanci mountain in the lower island of langting mountain. It was only seen when the water fell. For ten or seven days, he went to explore the cliffs and visited the pottery stones in Sumen, which was mengchun in the 51st year of Qianlong.". A total of 62 words.
The stone carving is the only original one that Li Yangbing, a famous calligrapher of Tang Dynasty, survived in the world, and has high historical and artistic value.
historical significance
Beside the xiaobeimen River in the old urban area of Ezhou City, there stands a huge cliff, which is like a small island. On it is engraved with the "Yiting inscription", which is known as the "three wonders", namely "Yiting inscription on cliffs". The cliff is located on the Bank of the river. It was formerly known as "Guanyin cliff". Because of its monkey like shape, it is also known as "monkey stone". It looks at longpanji in the middle of the river in the East and Diaoyutai at the foot of the western mountain in the West. It is one of the three "strange stone landscapes" along the river in Ezhou city. Its reputation, historical and artistic value are above longpanji and Diaoyutai.
When it comes to Yiting Ming cliff inscriptions, we should first mention "King Wu Sanhua Beach". In 221 ad, Sun Quan, the king of Wu, established the capital of Wuchang. In fact, there are many rolling stones extending into the river at the cliff of Guanyin Pavilion, forming a small stone island surrounded by water on three sides. Behind the island is a wide beach pool with mud deposition and flat terrain. The kingdom of Soochow was founded by the water army. Sun Quan often reviewed the water army here to welcome and see off the soldiers. Every time the soldiers and soldiers win victory in battle, Sun Quan always holds a ceremony to reward the army with scattered flowers on this beach, which is why "Wu Wang scattered flowers Beach" gets its name.
